Very nice!

Doesnt look too easy to retro fit comand!:(

Certainly impressive figures with the 320CDI engine. 0 - 62mph 6.8 seconds. A few years ago folks would think you crazy if you suggested a diesel would be competing against similar sized petrol engines.

Anybody know if the W204 will have telephone pre-wire as standard? It's gotta come soon - if not MB I wonder who will be the first manufacturer to do it. My guess is the economy of scale means it would not be a horrnedous cost on mid to high market cars

Thanks for the Link,
Its looking to me a little Bmwish ( is that a word ) . The high shoulder at the back of the car ala 3series . Pop up sat nav Screen(it looks like that to me ) ala x3 1series 3series.

The radio looks the same as in my brothers 407 Coupe Loads of buttons .

I see the sport has a flat bonnet badge on it saves some of us having to mod it .

All in all with the GL class headlight I think its looking really good allways been a fan of the bmw range.:p

But thats just my opinion .

The new C-Class has bluetooth as standard which will allow you to make and receive calls (on a bluetooth phone) but will not give access to the address book or charge the handset.

The current integrated telephone pre-wiring will remain an option.

I bet very few people will specify it now it's not on display all the time.

Does look like a little S Class, especially the bronze coloured one:D

I like the front end treatment both in 3/4 and profile. Less keen on the rear end treatment. Big bum comes to mind. All IMO of course.

So er is this the new thread for the 204?

Come the summer there'l b a "has anyone seen a W204 yet" thread :D.

Amg Bodied Cars

Sorry to harp on about this BUT

Again with the AMG body kit!!!!!!!!!

Why don't they publish some good advance pictures of the standard bodied cars?? To get that look ( Which I freely admit looks very desirable) I'm guessing you will have to buy a "sports edition " model or add a £3-4K to the price! Is the standard bodied car such a dog they wont publish any pics. Its difficult to make any final judgement on the new shape without images of the standard bodied car.:(

EDIT:- found some pics of the "standard" car here http://www.emercedesbenz.com/Jan07/18_The_2008_Mercedes_Benz_C_Class_Design.html
still looks good IMHO

The bronze car doesn't have an AMG kit fitted.

If you had bothered to go onto the link I posted you will see pictures of the SE, Elegance and Sport, plus a brief description of the body of each one.

Still your big fonts do look nice.

Regards,
John

IMO W204 with the AMG body kit looks the business followed by the Avantgrade (which also appears to have a AMG body kit as well on the official MB website)

Classic looks very plain...

If I was to buy a W204 and money was not an issue I personally would love a Elegance with full AMG body styling/alloys/sports suspension as I like the standing star on the bonnet opposed to the big star in the grill. However, MB will only offer Sport Edition models with star integrated into the grill from the factory - I am a fan of wooden interiors which only comes with the Elegance.

The dash looks like something out of the Opel design studio.
Some clumsy detailing in the body that's for sure. The high bonnet
line may be because of the new pedestrian crash rules,it gives the car
an American mid 90's dumpy look.I'm disappointed.

Did have a brief look John but did not delve deep enough. :o So from that MB UK website and DC_INSIDER's post "UK line up simplified (Classic/Classic SE/Elegance SE/Avantgarde SE/Sport Edition replaced with SE/Elegance/Sport)." I take it the UK market is to be denied the basic Classic and the Avantgarde models. Wonder why? Where are the RHD cars going to made? In South Africa like the W203 or Germany?? Maybe thats something to do with it?? Or have I missed that piece of info as well? :o

IMHO, if you took the 3 pointed star badges off, you'd be hard pushed to spot the difference between this and most modern luxury saloons these days. They all look so similar!

Perhaps I'm viewing all this through rose tints, but that's one of the reasons I think my W124 coupe is so timeless in its appearance...

Yep, new range is SE, Elegance, Sport.

The brochure I got today does list some basic specs, was surprised with:

All Sports have AMG bodykit.
All models have alloy wheels.
Elegance has Artico (man made leather) as standard.
