Hello
Took my old C Class 203 180K to Stockport Mercedes Benz
today. Served by Katie who was very helpful indeed as was the receptionist.
Mercedes-Benz of Stockport - Passenger cars
I showed up with my one working key (my girlfriend washed my spare - dohh!) plus my V5 and ID (passport). I did have proof of address with me but I was just asked if the V5 address was my current address, I said yes.
Total cost was £280 inc vat.
I was expecting £250. Personally I think the cost is bonkers for a car key.
They read the car using STAR, deleted 2 older keys which are no more. It took well over an hour. I tried to consume at least £200 quids worth of latte and biscuits. A busy dealership; people in and out all the time.
I am waiting for their call, my new key is being forged in the Fatherland and when it show up on our shores (4 to 7 days) I return to drink latte, they check it works, then I am good to go.
It is a busy dealership. Never been to a main dealer before it was Merc's for as far as the eye can see. Black and silver everywhere.
I like the A class shape, Bravo Mercedes. It's like a better VW Golf.:bannana:
Best wishes pod
