I've ordered and collecting a C250 from my dealer on Thursday. The wife just took delivery of a MiTo and got some bits n bobs (Breathalyzer, toy car (mito natually) etc etc).

Any gimmicks like that from MB? Or do is the car the main attraction, as it should be ?

You get a free MiTo.

..... only joking. Never bought a new Merc so I don't know.

Seem to remember when I bought my second hand C class it was a bunch of flowers and a Mercedes Key ring.

BMW did not do so well - just a bottle of wine for my brother for introducing my business....

When we got the B class, we suggested to the salesman that we would prefer an MB golf umbrella instead of the usual flowers -they agreed but also ended up giving the flowers too! We also requested in advance that a B class keyring be thrown in (normally a rip off £20+) which they did

Boston MB dealer gives out a half case of sparkling wine to customers who recommend them to another who makes a subsequent purchase

Last car we bought was from Milton Keynes.

Usual bunch of flowers for Mrs D, and an MB Thermos flask and travel mugs for me. He opted for that because when we did the deal I was on the phone, stationary on the M1 - engine off, and had been for hours - and I commented that I really needed a coffee. Nice touch, I thought.

Shame that he hadn't got Junior D a little bear or something - he realised as he handed Mrs D and I our gifts but couldn't get into the merchandise cupboards as it was late on a Saturday and everyone else had gone home. Said he'd post it but never did.

I got an umbrella and a bottle of Champers with the S Class and I found a Mercedes salesman in the ML:eek:
He had been kind enough to deliver it to Norfolk from somewhere really mysterious....inside the M25:p

With the MB I got a Mercedes keyring, but it was a used-car purchase. No flowers for me or the significant other. However, upon opening the boot I was surprised to see a Mercedes umbrella. And then on exploring the glove box a Mercedes-branded pen was in the holder :)

The Ford was also a used-car purchase, and their free gift was just a dealer keyring, not 'Ford' specific :D

I've had leather keyrings with my Mercs, and with the previous BMW.

My wife is the expert, though, she's had flowers every time, two teddy bears, and even gets flowers when she takes her car in for a service.

I'm not sure that even that is worth driving a Hyundai for, though........

.

I got an umbrella a key ring and a fancy folder which i use to keep my paperwork in for work.

When my mum got hers she got some flowers and a hamper

When I bought my C class we've got nothing! (probably due to factory collection).

A new Volvo V70 once saw a bunch of flowers for the missus and a hamper. Last two new Volvo's have seen flowers. Also received a £100 gift card for introducting some new business :thumb:

Usual umbrellas (2x) and key rings from both MB and Volvo.

Best to collect from the factory and do the tour etc..

Your paying for Delivery anyway....
True - and an experience not to be missed, IMO - but perhaps a little late to arrange?

:doh:

My tip would be to take the salesman to have a look in the "lifestyle accessories" display cabinet at the dealership, point at what you want and say "I want one of those, please". The direct approach often works as long as you don't pick out the £250 monogrammed luggage set...

When I picked my W204 I got "nearly" full tank of fuel, a set of car mats, a MB umbrella and in the boot for the Mrs was a bunch of flowers. And no, didn't ask for any of it. Still MB Mansfield closed within a year, maybe unprofitable perhaps :crazy:

Mercedes = nothing.
BMW = umbrella/mats.

Have though obtained free keyring & mug on subsequent warranty/service/sales events since
