I'm coming over for both of Ricky's trackdays, yea. There's some other days on at Spa, Djon-Renois and Nordschleife that I've reserved some days off work for as well.

On that subject of my visits to the UK, I'm actually around and will even have the car freshly "gleammachine"d on the tenth of April, so if an AMG Bluewater meet happens to fall on that afternoon I'll be able to see you guys. Will be nice to put some faces to names before we all head down to Goodwood later that month

Ben, if you fancy meeting up at some point I'm planning on going to the 'ring on Fri 29th April (but still waiting for confirmation of opening times) and am definitely going for a Spa track day on Monday 23rd May.

In fact, if anyone else is interested in either of these two dates we could make a convoy of it? Might post up some info in the events section at some point if I get round to it!

Is the date of 29th April fixed? That's the Friday of Ricky's Goodwood outing which I'm already going to. Careful when planning a long time in advance for the 'ring - their opening timestend to chop and change a fair bit as various manufacturers change schedules and re-book days.


Very interested in Spa though. Am planning to go for a trackday on the 5th July, but more = better. Do you have any details that you can PM me?

I might have a passenger and I think one other car is confirmed so this one will be very light!

Its OK though as I've become quite good friends with Uli so he's always out there keeping me entertained (as I'm sure most know but jut incase you don't, he's one of AMG's development drivers and was the main test driver of the C63 in it's development stages).

Just a few admin bits to sort out with the dealership - collection of temporary plate, timing for the actual pickup, etc. Have delegated to the missus, as she's a translator and German is her best language after English.

My German barely gets me served in Burger King!

Yeah keeping well mate and loving the car...Had a little burn up with a Lambo Gallardo the other Sunday and have to say the 63 did not shame itself in anyway....even to the point of waiting for the fella to move over so I could overtake him. The guy in the Lambo was shocked at the speed of the car and couldn't believe I kept with him. Getting to know this beast now and it didn't surprise me.

Ha ha ha ha.....I can just about only get by ordering a BK in English so your German will be a thousand times better than mine.

Yes we will definately catch up soon, would be good to meet you Ben. Now try and not have too many sleepless nights due to the excitement coming your way....LOL.

Bit of a disaster on the cards. MB want us to pay the rest of the money before picking up the car (fair enough), but also want us to pay the VAT - 19% in Germany

Thanks to the missus' job we're actually exempt from paying VAT on the car, but MB seems to think that we should pay it and then wait for the German tax office to refund it. We've never done that on any other car we've bought, so I think we'll be forced to complain up the ladder until we speak to someone sensible.

Not sure if this is due to it being picked up in Germany, rather than MB shipping it to the dealership and me only getting the car when it's been registered here in Luxembourg. Possibly I'll have to cancel the Stuttgart trip and get it shipped here instead.

Very upset about it though, as is the missus who is negotiating everything in German for me.

hey guys apolgies for my absence ive been run down with flu and busy work....

hows everyone good to hear ben that your cars on the way.... bet you just cant wait

benjy how arte you buddy hope all is well and the car is treating you well... i just dont think im putting my foot down since owning it i havent once seen the esp light come on but hey 1000 miles is up so ill be putting my foot down a little more... its been too cold to clean it so sorry rob im gonna have to rely on a car wash place to give it a clean up ....

how are you coping with the car have you braved the cold to wash it yet?

just out of interest how would the c63 handle against a f430 ... run for its money or dont even bother lol
