All, picking up a new B180 Sport BlueEfficancy tomorrow and wondered if anyone could provide a rough checklist of things to confirm before signing it over as A-OK. Of course the dealer will to their PDI etc. but obvisouly i should ensure i'm 100% happy before accetping it.

Also, should i expect floor mats to be included? the demo i used on the test drive didnt have any.

Thanks

I'd pay close attention to the exterior paint/trim and the interior. Highlight any bit you are unhappy with and prepare to look miffed if you do spot anything you are unhappy with.

Once you drive it away, any marks then become debatable.

The mechanics will be covered by the warranty.

Mats will be extra unless you negotiated / paid for them at point of order. You may get them free if your dealer is feeling generous / guilty about something else.

Most importantly - enjoy your new car !!!!!!

Check over the bodywork carefully, make sure everything works and take a test drive if you can before you sign anything.

You have most leverage before you sign and accept the car, the dealer will not want you to reject the car so will be more willing to rectify anything. After you ahave signed dealers attitude can often change.

I know of two people who had scratches on their cars, one refused to sign and got an agreement to fix the issue, extras thrown in and free servicing. The other person accepted an offer to have the problem fixed at a later date, which it never was properly and eventually they gave up asking as it wasn't worth the hassle.

1. paint work, paint work and paint work.. cant stress it enough..

look at every panel, joint, hinge, corner, light area, handle etc...

2. Sit on the seats and jump up and down for 5 - 10 seconds.. (squeak check)

3. look at panel fit between every line, every corner and make sure they look even..

4. check underside of front and rear bumpers.. paint peal from any grassing can cause problems in yrs to come..

5. stone chips from transportation!

Take a CD with you to test that it all works OK.
It's not unknown for stereos to be dead on arrival.
