C205 Coupé
So, the time has come to get rid of my c250d c205 coupe, and replace it with a S213. Struggling like mad to find an S213 with Distronic Plus, but I (hope) I will.

Anybody any ideas what I should list my current car at?
Its an extremely well specced '66' plate (MY17) C250d with 31k and FMBSH in polar white. It is immaculate (Other than some lacquer peel on one wheel) and comes with Red Leather, Airmatic, Distronic Plus + Other Driving Aids. Its a premium plus.
Spec can be seen here: Mercedes-Benz C 250 d Coupe 2016-02-23 - WDD2053082F348761

Its getting tested tomorrow and having its next service done.

WBAC are offering me £21k at present which surprised me tbh, hence the question to those in the know :)

I’m no expert, but if thinking of selling privately I’d pitch it a couple of grand above WBAC offer , knowing that is your bottom line .

You could start by putting it in a classified ad on here .

Similarly if trading in you either want more than the WBAC offer , or a discount if not trading in , in which case give the car to WBAC .

Just keep in mind that you really need to make sure you have answered correctly each and every question in the extended form (not the quick evaluation one), in order to actually get the price that WBAC offered online.

check auto trader for similar models always a good guide and they have a monitor indicating low average high price for the cars

Given how utterly apalling the MB site is for searching for AU cars right now - it may well be that WBAC can get higher prices when it comes to retailing the cars simply because customers can actually find cars via their outlets.

Mine's an 18 plate C250d 4matic premium plus with only 14,000 on the clock and £21,000 is the best p/ex price I've had on the net, so WBAC's price seems very good.

Seems low compared to mine though? My auto trader valuation comes back at 20,700 and even the Merc one shows nearly 21k.
Will see for sure tomorrow

Valuations aside , if you stick your car on auto trader at , say , £23K , and after haggling , manage to get £22K for it - you've scored .

What have you got to lose ?

Pick a number , try your luck , and if someone goes for it , you're £££ up !

You know , at the end of the day WBAC will give you £21K , so you don't drop below that price .

You could , just for the sake of it , stick it on at £25K - if you find a punter willing to pay even close to that , you're well up . They will have no better an idea than you of values .

What have you got to lose ?
My friend got scammed out of £5k when selling his car privately so to answer your question - possibly quite a lot!

It has to be said there are some dodgy people about .

Please elaborate, if you can , on how the scam worked ?

Pretty straightforward really - three men of a certain persuasion arrived, test drive the car, then checked it over and started saying “it’s knackered, you’ve tried to rip us off” etc etc and then basically bullied him (and threatened to come back the day after and set fire to his house!) into accepting £5k less and drove off with the car and the full logbook.

Well I think the 21 grand is a good offer,of course we all know that WBAC will try and knock the offer down on inspection, but it does take the trouble of selling private away.

WBAC are offering very good prices at the moment.I understand that there is a shortage of cars right now and that they have huge stocks that they are putting through their auctions, each one earning an auction fee of £750 in addition to the hammer price.
Offered me more than my PE price but did not take them up on it for various reasons. Got an email yesterday offering even more.

Since I’d have asked for sight of driving licence/insurance before any test drive I’d have pointed out I knew who they were if anything happened, and told them to pi$$ off .

WBAC offered £1795 for a 2013 C220 Cdi manual Estate....sign of the times? Surprised me & really shocked my friend who owned it.

21,300 now by an Audi stealership.

Think I’m going to list it and see what happens

£1795 ????? I would have given him at least £2000!:)
Thats because you're a mad impetuous spendthrift...
