Well im finally getting round to carrying out my mods one by one

I had this lying in the garage for the last 2 years, the reason i hadnt put it on was that the color was grey rather than black and wouldnt match the airbag.

I managed to get it re-trimmed at a place called Carisma in colchester - very nice bloke and top job too, they also retrimmed the back of the steering wheel in black leather which is normally plastic, very reasonable too.

    heres the before

    heres the after

all the leather was taken off and re-done by hand.

Its only for the interim until i do the CLK cluster mod (which is also sitting in my Garage), just waiting for the right multifunction steering wheel & Airbag to come up! (Anyone??)

let us know what you think

WOW another amazing mod Alps, it looks the business and a very good match for the carbon fibre trim as well.

I believe its the old steering wheel re-trimmed.

What was Alps driving the car with if the wheel had been in the garage for 2 years ?

Am i reading it wrong ?

I'm reading it that Alps had another C36 wheel in the garage and he has had it retrimmed and put it on , now the old one may be back in the garage ?

IMO it's a shame the star on the airbag isn't chrome ... that would really set it off (not literally :D).

The CLK one ( pre-facelift ) which is exactly the same but doesn't have AMG on it , has a chrome star ...

Wish my SL airbag had a chrome star :(

    The Vito one does.

Not cheap, but it comes with the airbag, IIRC they're pretty expensive on their own!
