Wow. Thats a 350 CGI ? :) Coool ! I wonder hows the space in the back ? Same as the previous one or bigger ? :)

:bannana:Some lucky photographers have managed to capture the first photos of a 'full monty', series 2011 CLS-Klasse (C 218), during a photo shooting.

The new 4door coupe from Stuttgart emphasizes a very barocque, luxuriant and muscular design, garnished with many interesting and intriguing lines, all of them put together in what may well be a reinterpretation of the flame surfacing concept. The mixture between curvaceous surfaces and sharp edges will most certainly rise a lot of controversy among journalists, fans of Mercedes-Benz and future potential customers.

As seen from the pictures and as anticipated, the new CLS borrows a lot from the ConceptFASCINATION prototype, which was on display at the Beijing Motor Show. The pictured model is a CLS 350 CGI version (to be powered by the new 3.5 V6, delivering 306 BHP) and is wearing the popular AMG Sportpaket trim, which offers revised front air intakes, a very classy and attractive one-louvre grille, special design AMG high-diameter wheels and a fancy rear difusser, and some carefully-tailored details for the interior as well.

Look for the new CLS to be officially previewed some time after mid-2010, with the public unveiling to take place in Paris this fall.

Im so glad the dash doesnt have the angular high level display monitor..

havent found the interior yet, but im sure it will look damn classy..

exterior wise, its not got the same flare that the original cls had.. this looks very mainstream.. which is a little sad!

the original cls was radical.. and i was hoping the new cls would have the same impact.. instead i see a tin of baked beans... no spice lol

I love that rear end but can't help thinking it is a facelift and not a new car. The front on the profile shot and e-Class style rear arches look a little odd.

I'm with the Boss.....

Wow, looks amazing - even better than the original!

im guessing thats it having its official press images shot?

(why didnt you post it in the news section :) )

I love the rear angle actually (post #5), but the front is very boring and doesnt work front to back..

I disagree, once the badge is visible it will look stunning with a hint of retro, in the style of the SLS grill.

Those headlights are the closest to any concept car I have ever seen!

I'm in two minds. It looks imposing alright, but one of the signature design elements of the 'old' CLS was that deep swage line running, uninterrupted, from front to back. Now this has been killed off by that hiccup on the back door. Almost like someone nudged the draughtsman at the wrong moment.

Also of interest is the new concept of the low-level brake light. Who's going to see that? Anyone else spot this?

Sorry, prefer the original in all respects. First CLS was and always will be a design classic. This facelift hasn't enhanced it, in my opinion.

style over substance!

spotted it before, but wasnt worth a mention as ud prob miss it lol..

when the first c class came out in 1993, the triangular lights were designed so that the brakes were at the highest point..

clearly if this car was designed in the far east, something has been lost in translation!

+1 for the old shape

Nope!

That low level light is the fog light, the highlevel brake light is in the normal place:

Is it just me, or do the wheels look disproportionately small in the profile shots?

yep, car seems to be riding very high - maybe just for transit.
