New CLS range drastically reduced

Current CLS shape is perfect to my eyes .. sleek, stylish, elegant and looks like nothing else out there.

interior is too much like E class though

Because no CLS has matched the original, especially the 55 AMG.

Love that video. Just 0.1sec slower than a Ferrari 575 and so flat in the corners.

I was gutted when I found out they don’t do the 63 version in the CLS

Me too, that would be the natural replacement to my 63.

The 53 will still be excellent with the odd exhaust mod.

I really don't get the hate towards the new one (CLS).

Totally agree mate

Couldn't agree more, I have a bias as an ex CLS owner, but I find them all wonderful looking machines.

The bigger issue is the scandalous lack of interior leather colour options.

Would be cool if they offered a phev with a decent size CE and a decent battery range.
Really don’t want to see the CLS disappear

Will be interesting to see the new one next year and what models they release. I don’t think we will see a CLS63 again though

Cornering is incredibly flat on the airmatic set up.

Faster than the GT3 and just behind the 575.

"Sounds like Barry White eating wasps."

"That is a phenomenal car."

Indeed.

And this is very sad. Bring back the Mercedes of 2000’s when they made 63 versions of almost every class lol

Starting price of £71k for 400d and £82k for 53. 2 models only.

multibeam LED has gone AWOL

good to see interior colour choice though

The saloon car/sedan in its many forms is a dying breed, Its tragic as I love a saloon car/sedan but it appears buyers like me are thin on the ground. With Exception of Land Rover 90/110, (new Defender at a push), A Rangey, G wagon or Land Cruiser, which are unique icons, everything other SUV is just tinsel for the myopic masses in my view.

I read somewhere that MB are going to drop the E Class estate on the next version because new car buyers are obsessed with "high bodied vehicles".

I don't know if that's actually true but it would be a real shame. I've never owed a "high bodied vehicle" in my life and don't plan to any time soon. My fantasy garage, though, features a CLS55 and/or an SL55.

Thats... insane. Faster than Porsches and Ferraris round the track!

Surely to God not 😱 would be a huge shame.

I hope it's wrong but you never know. There are vast amounts of crossovers and SUV's about these days
