Not sure about the dashboard and I think the shape of the lights will make or break the exterior styling. The front looks good, not so sure about the rear.

Anybody notice the W221 has got lowth..Looks like MB Engineers agree with Mactech..;)

Judging by the rear end Lowth onthe E class estate, either it's not too good at carrying loads or those Engineers need to put a bit more time into developing the parking in lane correction system rather, than eating all those Bratwust for lunch.

The dash has a whiff of the 80's about it.. Touch of the 124?

Hope the lights are not like the new SL, saw one the other day at Croydon MB, as has been said by others Astra sprang to mind...

it looks like a Hyundai Genesis with a few "bangle-esque" swage lines thrown in for good measure.

    Horrible

The main body shape immediately reminded me of a Rover75.

Mercedes have had to make savings. So instead of drawings being done on the latest CAD equipment it's now done on paper with only a ruler as an aid..

Most of our designs are done on CAD with straight lines - we did once experiment with the curve tool and things suddenly got expensive!

Nothing wrong with a bit of straight-line(ness) ;)

I was interesting seeing the new E Class saloon parked alongside an S Class. The wheelbase looks to be very similar and if it wasn't for the slightly greater rear overhang of the S, the two saloons would be very close in size.

Well if the new E really will look like this, I for one greatly prefer Bruno Sacco's current E class design. Will be a classic IMO.

Not much equals the BMW range for ugliness at the moment. 'The cars Bangle mangled'.
