Noticed tonight that memory seats are now £1150, much more than before.

And no keyless go option

Strange.

lots of people there. lots of sales folks. some woman singing.

E class coupe looks great with all windows down.

Not a single car with panoramic roof

Where is the pricing and options as mentioned in the title? Was expecting a lot more than £1150 for memory seats, which is for the memory package actually not just the seats.

Look on the MB website, you can download the pdf price lists. They are too big to attach here.

Yes I have seen them there, it's just that after reading the title I hoped there was something extra mentioned in the post.

I think you get lumbar support thrown in too .. wow!

MEMORY PACKAGE

Fully electric driver and passenger seats.
Storage of seat, steering wheel and driver's exterior mirror settings.
Four-way lumber support.
Easy-exit steering wheel and driver's seat.

That is what you get for your £1150. Whether it is worth the money would be up to the potential purchaser.

If I recall didn't they have them as seperate options before for driver and passenger ? Driver 600, passenger 400 ? Not defending the prices but that may explain some of the size of the cost...

Saw an E Class Coupe on the road for the first time this afternoon, an E350 CDI Sport version I think. Beautiful it was.

4 way lumbar support is a nice one. Easy exit I'd do without as had it on a BMW and it never returned to the right position. I made markings to prove this point and the cars memory function was an "approximate recall" not an accurate one.

£1150 is a lot of money to return the seat to its position after you take it for a service, but probably a godsend if you and another person regularly drive the car.

Strange that ***, as I had Easy Exit on my Lexus and the seat and steering wheel returned to exactly the same position each time. Obviously your BMW had a fault, so don't write it off the option after a bad experience due to one bad car.

Yes, it was a BMW. :o

I rather like the E class. After seeing the 212 in Brooklands it grew on me and whilst its not a lovely design its nice enough to be a successor to my trusty stead.

I can see the benefits of this option, but as I am the only driver the seat is only moved when it gets serviced, and I tend to ask them not too so once its in position it stays put.

I have jsut spent all day at Thruxton driving all manner of MB cars from ML63's to B-Class'.

I drove the E350 CDI Coupe and E500 Coupe (C207) around the track with anger and the E350 CDI engine was fantastic. Excellent car. Handled well, loads of power and great looking.

The 207 is a cracking car with and excellent chassis and engne combo with the 350CDI

I think I prefered the E500 Coupe overall. Great noise.... Even better sideways.....

C207, better than a 212 or even a 204 on track. Based on the later but just more £ for less motor IMHO.

Yes. Much better chassis set up. It just seemed balanced. I was really impressed.

Were they different tyres, suspension (elegance etc) on the various cars?

At least then you get something extra for your cash. It isn't practicality. If the 204 chassis dynamics wise is close to E90 3 series (holy grail of mass produced saloon cars for handling balance) and the 207 is much better then MB have built something truly special. An MB that out "BMWs a BMW" and has nice MB quality, style and class. Perfect.

I test drove the new E350 CDI Sport coupe this afternoon and I was impressed. I think its a beautiful looking car both inside and out and it drove really well. The demonstrator did have the optional Dynamic Handling Package so I don't know how much difference that made to the ride which I thought was spot on. I think its much better looking than the saloon. They felt very similar from the drivers seat but the saloon has far more space in the back, that's where the size difference is most noticeable.

I was however disappointed with the engine and its performance. The car only had 68 miles on the clock so it should loosen up. I drive a BMW 335d coupe at the moment and the E350 felt so much slower. The BMW 3 litre diesels have a willingness to rev which the E350 CDI engine didn't have. Comparing the cars I do think the interior of the E Class and the dashboard is much nicer than the 3 series.

The traffic was pretty busy being a Friday afternoon so I'm going to arrange another longer test drive at a quieter time. I might leave it a few weeks as I'm sure their demonstrator will be popular so it should loosen up quickly by then.

Drive the 500. Whoa
