So what model code is this? C207?
Is this the replacement CLK because if so the Press said it is based on the C class? Not sure - but the current E-class is '211', and the replacement is sure to be '212', so I'd imagine it'd be a varient on that?

Just shows you really can fool some of the people, quite a lot of the time. The 207 is now shown at EPC. It looks like it would use more W204 parts than the CLK used to use C-class parts. There are quite many 207 parts of course.
It is odd how they can make a car from a smaller body and put a higher price tag than E-class (I did not check this but I assume so).
Why do MB base this supposed C class and call it an E. Why couldn't they have actually built the E class coupe on the 212 platform rather than the 204 base. The CL is 221 based
so why can't the E coupe actually be based on the E class.
I think this is a bit of marketing to try and differentiate the CLK slot from the C class - both to separate it in terms of price and also in terms of the two door C coupe.
That will be the CLS replacement.
