Following my trip to the Geneva show I have the price list for the E class and E class coupe.

I've tried to scan this and hope this comes out, I think...this is the E class coupe price.

I still think that's a design triumph. Looks gorgeous - have to wait to see one in the flesh.

I think I know what will eventually replace the CLK55! The E Class Coupe is absolutely stunning.

Not sure - but the current E-class is '211', and the replacement is sure to be '212', so I'd imagine it'd be a varient on that?

So what model code is this? C207?

The W207 seems to have gone underground. ..... who knows what will happen to it. Wait till about August 2009 when the market regains its feet. Then we will see some denial-spending and self-pity-spending in the USA.

With the US reserve holding bonds on 0% cash you can expect more spending from the USA in the future.

People have to buy cars .... regardless.

Coupe looks nice, saloon looks awkward for some reason.

Is this the replacement CLK because if so the Press said it is based on the C class?

The 207 is now shown at EPC. It looks like it would use more W204 parts than the CLK used to use C-class parts. There are quite many 207 parts of course.

It is odd how they can make a car from a smaller body and put a higher price tag than E-class (I did not check this but I assume so).

Stunning car.........can't wait to see it in the "flesh"...I do think colour will be critical to the lines etc...

Having seen both the E class coupe and the E class salloon it looks too me that wheels and colour are the key to it looking right.

The rear arches 'look' wide and need a good size wheel to fill it out. Some of the cars on show with small wheels / naff colours looked pretty dire to be honest.

The white one (I sat in) and was very very nice, but dread to think the final speced price, I probably have a pic somewhere. Most had at least 15K worth of goodies...

Is the E Class Coupe launched at the same time as the saloon? If so, when is that? I think a trip down to the local dealer to have a good look will be required!

Just shows you really can fool some of the people, quite a lot of the time.

A C class, masquerading as an E class and priced like an S class.

There are no details on the Mercedes UK website about the coupe, does anyone know when it is launched?

Who read this months "CAR" magazine review of the new E class coupe.

Why do MB base this supposed C class and call it an E. Why couldn't they have actually built the E class coupe on the 212 platform rather than the 204 base. The CL is 221 based, so why can't the E coupe actually be based on the E class.

This car makes the 212 seem like a really good deal, and a 204 like the steal of the century.

I think this is a bit of marketing to try and differentiate the CLK slot from the C class - both to separate it in terms of price and also in terms of the two door C coupe.

That will be the CLS replacement.

You mean the CLC, based on the 203. Quite frankly it should be dropped. Most see through the CLC for what it is, a cynical rehash of the old C coupe.

MB have "outniched" themselves a bit. TBH the CLS is almost a stand alone model that takes the fight to BMW as the CLS is a more "driver focussed car". I think they could have developed a 2 door car on the 212 platform, shelved the CLC and sold this car as a C class coupe or CLK.
