New E Class estate average reviews

Slightly disappointed that the new E Class estate is getting average reviews. Maybe once we get better engines in there that would help.

Well they're both 4 star reviews, which is ok. But you could always buy a Volvo if you really wanted to!

Sticking with my 5 series until Merc bring out a proper performance estate. E43 might be that!!

I took the What Car 4 star review as quite positive with mainly the price being an issue and the suspension being very dependant on what option you choose, certainly not lacklustre or negative :bannana:

Genuine question: do you buy your cars based on reviews?

If you bought on group test reviews , we'd all be driving rough bmws. The mags are so biased towards them.

The E43 will be one of the best Eclass ever made.

Yes and no. I like to read all the reviews and understand the key issues. But I often disagree with the tests as I often buy used cars and go for loaded top engine spec cars. For example: Magazines say that the pick of the BMW 5 range is the 520d SE. I disagree it's the 535d M Sport with about £12k of options!!!

My concern with the E Class or more hope was that it would be more like a 5 series. Good handling, maybe a performance model (E43 might be it!![emoji1303]) and in general it made get get there but I hoped that a brand new base model would ace it out of the blocks..... or maybe the journalists are too focused on Focus RSs and AMG45s to understand what working family's actually need on the drive?!

Agree, with that. I have circa 390bhp and 780nm in my 535d.... but from the factory the E43 will be 391bhp and 520nm...... (500bhp and 650nm with a tune?!)

But the Mercs 4 wheel drive, that interior and exterior...... [emoji1303][emoji1303][emoji1303]

A test drive will be needed. Exciting times indeed.

See if you buy the 43 and then come on and say it uses more fuel than your 535d , I will boot you in the baws at the first opportunity.

Whatcar giving 4* means is better than that . It's something that has been discussed over the years that they favour certain brands due the commercial arrangements they have
And to be honest who cares. They have the B class as 3 for subjective reasons and despite that I still bought one and never been more pleased.
