New EQS 2025 Facelift - Return Of The Upright Star & Classic Grill

The star almost looks like it was painted on.👎

Seems a pointless change looks wise.

Sheesh those things are chunky!

The amount of tyrees and brakes these things must go though going and stopping....

In the real world with wipers and heating on?
No it will be the WLTP test cycle. Even it it’s closer to 550 km on a cold and wet night, then there are relatively few people who drive further in those conditions - without stopping - in the real world.

I don’t doubt there will be exception, for whom an ICE powered car would be the obvious solution.

There are plenty of journeys which aren’t wet, cold and dark, and will yield a number much closer to 800 km. No doubt there will be exceptions who drive even further without stopping, there always is.

I think you’ve identified a very large proportion of MB Clubbers who don’t like EVs and/or have never driven one in those two sentences.

I think they also don’t like LED lightbulbs, are still upset over the smoking ban, lack of sugar in drinks, the reduced wattage vacuum cleaners and non-availability of creosote :D

With them on the creosote thing - bloomin' love the smell of it.

I would really love to have that car. Or an EQE but only a fully loaded one with the beautiful all-integrated "hyperscreen", white nappa ventillated leather, pano roof and all the other goodies.
But - there was a car consumer deprication report that came my way a few days ago. The price drop was almost 30-40 % MSRP in a year (!) for the EQS and a similar loss
for the EQE after 3 years.

A friend in the EV business recommended that "If you consider an electric car, do not lease one for more than 2 years. Battery chemistry development is so fast that the
second hand market prices for many EV brands will drop significantly with time."

In the UK, expensive new cars have depreciated heavily in their first few years for decades. Losing 30-40% against list price on an S-Class would have been normal in say 2019.

The supply chain issues over more recent years triggered the used car market to go into overdrive, temporarily over-inflating used car prices. Normal service is now being resumed.

EVs hardly touch their brakes, it's mostly done with regen. In fact the controller has to lightly touch them every few hundred miles to keep them clean.

Tyres definitely an issue, 1 year old, almost 9k miles and my rear tyres have probably got 2000 miles left in them.

Brakes on the other hand only 10% worn according to my last visit to the dealership a month ago.

You have a heavy right foot! :D

Never had a problem with previous cars going through tyres quicker than expected.
