I would like a new after market exhaust for my C230 K sport 1997. Any recommendations? I have an uprated filter and shorter pulley arm on the supercharger if that makes any difference.

How much would you say I would be looking to pay for a normal, non decat, single pipe (ball park figure)?

350-500

try lifelong exhausts - fitters nationwide and quoted me a great price for a de-cat stainless steel one.

not used them yet, but intend to soon i think as i've patched/bodged by current exhaust too much now.

Longlife did the centre muffler removal on my R129 - cheap, and no problems.

Does anyone sell performance manifolds/downpipes for these cars ?

The only thing that annoys me about the car is the downpipe 'tinkle', but it just seems to be a characteristic of these engines.

I think I have seen them in the US. What do you mean by the 'tinkle' as I think mine might have it. I have a tapping type noise on full chat, would this be the noise you are on about?

The tapping/tinkle you may be referring to may be a crack in the exhaust manifold. Its a very common issue on these engines.

Hmm I dont think so to be honest. Unless it is extremely bad. Some people dont ever realise and drive it for years like that. But it could be worth checking never the less.

W202 performance headers ?!

Not for me I'm afraid, I can't hear the exhaust noise at all, unless I have the window down.

Last months MB owners club magazine had an article about a custom made stainless steel exhaust being fitted. Can't remember the companies name but they seemed to know their stuff and the system was built to match the run of the original. Anyone still got a copy?

Post 7 on here too. I had a feeling Pontoneer had used them.
