Hey there. I’ve had my car a couple of months now and figured it was finally time to join this forum.

This is my first AMG and actually my first MB. It’s not my first V8 though, having had a few previously including an F90 M5, C7 RS6 and a Lexus ISF. So far things are going well with the C63s, I’m enjoying getting to know it and hope to get out and about more this summer.

No issues so far, however there were a few initial niggles that needed to be sorted: MPSSs removed and MPS4Ss fitted and a foot rest cover (thanks to another helpful C63 owner). I’ve had some PPF and ceramic coating added and soon it’ll have all the required maintenance completed. A bit of a saga with the local MB dealer, but the A service, plugs, diff, pano roof lube etc have been done, it just needs the gearbox service next week to round it off. Will be glad when that’s finally out of the way.

Looking forward to contributing to this great forum 👍

Welcome....great colour.....what colour is the interior?

Thanks, it’s just the standard black interior with the ash ‘wood’ trim. I wasn’t so keen on the white or red leather options. Overall I’m just happy it’s free of rattles, read too many horror stories online about that.

Welcome to the forum, can I ask why the reason to remove MPSSs and fit MPS4S?

Without wanting to pre-empt the OP, It’s a no brainer to be fair - I also did the same thing when I got mine, the grip difference is night and day.

I'd have assumed the super sports would offer more grip then the sport 4, basing this on pilot sport 4 and not pilot sport 4S

The 4s is a notably better tyre than the 4. The 5 is supposed to be even better, but I don’t have first hand experience myself. The Super Sport is a good tyre, but they tend to go prematurely hard and don’t wear the heat cycles well.

As Jobsworth says, the 4S is a very different tyre, to me it’s like witchcraft. Provided I’ve warmed them up, I can do a full throttle start on a damp road with only limited slip - on bone dry roads there’s no slip whatsoever (assuming ESP/TC is on).

On my second set now, first 4 covered about 23k (fronts wore out first!).

Right OK so it's the 4s? And not the 4. I'm due to collect a E63 which has P-Zero fitted which I'm not a fan of. In an odd and stupid way I'm hopeful that they are low on tread so I can justify replacing them

Thanks for the view, I will have a look to see if the 4S is available.

Welcome to the forum, can I ask why the reason to remove MPSSs and fit MPS4S?

Thanks for the warm welcome folks.

As has been discussed, as good as the MPSS are, in the cold and wet of the NE of Scotland, they can be found wanting. Especially so with the torque of the C63s.

I had them years ago on an Alpina D3 BT, it wasn’t as bad due to less torque. However once they became worn, it was very dicey. I felt this immediately with the C63 at one slightly damp roundabout - I saw a gap in the traffic and went, only I didn’t. It just sat spinning it’s wheels.

The problem with the MPS4S is that you can’t get MO marked tyres for both axels. I’ve gone for the standard tyres. Will see what the 5S brings when we can actually get ahold of them.

Welcome to the forum:thumb:
Lovely choice for your first MB and a lovely colour.

@Stevie1982.
Lose the P Zero's ASAP on your E63. I found the grip in the damp almost non existent. The Michelins or Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 6 are a huge improvement.
