As title, our suppliers sent us the latest h7 cree led bulbs. I tested them on my Mercedes clk w209 as a replacement for the h7 high beam bulb.

Results.

Amazingly they were very very bright, did get errors but our h7 resistors solved that, when flashing they look awesome. Have a look at the video and let me know what you guys think.http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1JJSay54dlg

Hi,
Where can I buy some?
Regards,
Chalpkin.

I will try and sell these on the forum, but I'm waiting for mods to reply and set up a trade account for me

Bright to look at, bit how do they light up the road?
And how do they perform on dip?

In all honesty they don't light up the road as well as a halogen set would. However for people who only use there high beam as a flash then these are perfect, definatley bright enough to give way and alert others.

This is cheaper set for everyday customers ( priced at £30 a pair)

We are waiting arrival of the new 50w super bright cree led kits which are rumoured to be brighter than dipped beam halogens will report on those when recieved. They cost £65 a set

Who only uses their high beam to flash ?

I like mine to light up dark country roads at night , and to have the option to if I like !

'Emperors robe' if they dont work as well as halogens to light up the road. We live in the sticks so there isnt much lighting on some of roads so to us they'd be dangerous but I suppose if you live in a city and rarely drive out they maybe OK.

Cree LEDs in the sidelights however are usually fantastic and much brighter than halogen sidelight bulbs.

They might not be as bright as halogens but when used with dipped headlights which i am sure you do, they do the job very well, and like i said these are one of two options and appeal more to people who don't do a lot of country road driving, the cree kit is meant to be really good just waiting for it and that may be a better option for those who need a bright and whiter high beam

When you have cree sidelight bulbs with built in resistors I would be interested.

Hi there

Get work on your Led h7.
Can you please let me know what resistors did you use to sort out the Error message?

Thank you

If they don't light up the road as well as halogens then there also a good chance they will fail the MOT on cut off

Also I've never driven a car yet with led headlights that are as good as top spec halogen or xenon and that includes the Audi R8 where led lights are a £4k option and seriously limit the performance of the car at night as visibility is reduced drastically

They look pretty though but very much form over function

Sent from my iPhone using MBClub UK

Iv had a quick check on the mot bay and these to even my surprise would just pass, leds will never be as bright as xenon but sorry, I've worked on an r8 and in all honesty the led headlights were definitely brighter than a normal halogen bulb. Cant imagine audi spending all that money to downgrade their lights

The resistor we use is like the one below

Zu11ly, thanks for tbe honest description.

If the H7 LEDs are not illegal and meet MOT requirements, then it is a simply question of personal choice. I don't see why drivers should not fit them if they choose to do so.

Personally I am not into LEDs, but for those who are, best of luck.

Thank you for your reply. Those resistors are exactly what I want to buy but

Can you please tell me exactly how did you install those resistors into the headlight housing?
where did you place those resistors?

Thank you for your time
