My Mum has a 54 plate C200 Kompressor. Its lovely and she really enjoys it, even though she is a spritely 73 years old!

I have persuaded her that at 10 years old, its time for a change.

I was in my local MB dealer the other day having discs and pads on my E Class when I noticed the new C class in the showroom. Very nice, but it made me think if the out going C Class was now a good deal.

We've found a 63 plate C180 Kompressor AMG Sport at the dealer with 7k on the clock, for £22k. Seems incredibly good value if you are not bothered about driving the latest thing, which are not.

She wants petrol, auto, this seems ideal, we're going for test drives at the weekend.

Anything to be wary of? Buying from a main dealer I'm less worried about the condition of the car, as it will be like new, more, any issues with 63 plate 1.6 petrol C Class models?

Thanks

Anyway, she looked, she drove, she bought. Collecting Thursday. Top marks to MB of Stratford Upon Avon, exemplary service (as ever!)

No answers has to be best response you and your mum could wish for when you ask if there's anything to be wary of. :thumb::D

I'm sure she'll love it. They're great cars. That one isn't going to leave too much rubber on the road as she accelerates away from the lights, but sounds as though she's nothing like me (at 5 years younger) and isn't bothered by such things.

Exactly.

She traded in her C200 K, which was a 1.8, this new one is a 1.6 and to be honest, felt a bit more powerful. She doesn't need huge power, this is more than adequate.
Tried to get her into a diesel, but being honest, at 3000 miles a year on short trips I suspect we may have had problems with DPF etc.
Very happy with the deal, got a 9 month old C180K AMG Sport with minimal mileage on for £23k.

Those kompressor engines are great power plants. Definitely a good buy!

Tried to get her into a diesel, ...

Good thing she doesn't listen to her son! As you grow older you'll realise that your parents were actually right most of the time.
