Do you ever get problems of salt building up in the engine bay? I did one trip in the SLK to west coast Wales and the following week, the engine bay got all crusted up white. Took a while to wipe it all off, getting into those nooks and crannies.

I've never looked, can't see much apart from engine anyway it's that big.

I had the WRX STi with PPP, good for 300bhp but yes that isn't even a match for a FQ-300, yet alone a FQ-340. But for me, the burbly engine is what sold it for me and that was more important than the weapon grade A to B sharpness of the EVO.

Very true I got my Evo to 561 so nothing touched it but it's a boys car now.I had the WRX STi with PPP, good for 300bhp but yes that isn't even a match for a FQ-300, yet alone a FQ-340. But for me, the burbly engine is what sold it for me and that was more important than the weapon grade A to B sharpness of the EVO.

Was mate but I'm 42 and time to grow up. Was great for upsetting lambos etc but not a joy to drive.

If it helps I am getting 30mpg on a run from mine and 21mpg around town, it is a slightly smaller engine but bigger output....

Sorry my mistake was comparing to the old 500, it is less at 4.7 L 430 hp (321 kW) V8 twin turbocharged so you may not get quite as good consumption but then again until it is chipped I have to live with a 0-60 time of 4.5 secs and a 155 mph limit [emoji20]
