Hi All,

I'm new here and hoping to be a C63 touring owner soon.

I have a test drive booked for Saturday on one which has come in through a main dealer as I've been quite keen on getting one with a 2 year AMG warranty included as I've heard some scare stories about unexpected bills.

Price wise its £33k with 37k miles on the clock on a 14 plate. It's missing some of the options I would like such as the Harman System, DAB Radio and Reverse Camera, but find a touring with a main dealer history and AMG warranty is getting hard to find.

Are there any things I should look out for especially when test driving?

Any help would be much appricated.

Kind regards,

Bhavik

Welcome,
but first up, my tuppence worth, I wouldn't be spending £33k on a 7 year old car that didn't have 3 of the options I was looking for.

Hi and welcome 👍

Funny you say that BandyAndy, that's what my gut is telling me as well, despite the AMG warranty benefit. However finding a good touring is getting so difficult and I don't see many coming up in trade sale. I have seen one which is a 2012 plate with 77k miles on it and a similar spec for £25k which seems a better deal. However is the mileage a bit much?

Welcome ,as above I wouldn't be spending that sort of money either
You could get a low miles s205 for not much more

What would be a realistic price to be spending on a w204 C63 Estate? I'm keen on getting the NA 6.2ltr V8 out of my system.

I recently saw a nice PPP C63 Estate on Autotrader, but it was a private sale. Not sure I feel safe with private sales and large sums of cash.

I've sold my w204 coupe ppp recently for stupid money tbh couldn't fault the car or engine in anyway so im now hoping to get into a w205 I've viewed a few but not what im after similar situation to you just not the estate as for private sellers if you have it checked out before purchasing then me personally dont see an issue as most warrantys arnt worth the paper there written on unless MB but I very much doubt they will do a 2 year warranty on a w204, s204 but i may be wrong

As with all AMGs the history is paramount (with me anyway) and a quick read of the above brake fluid should of been last year if it's all MB spec with additional items done on time, these cars are top dollar now so you can be picky you will regret buying 2nd best

Does it have to be a C class? Would a CLS 63 SB be of interest? No HK, but DAB radio, reversing camera, impeccable main dealer history, less than 50K miles, 14 plate?

A far better car too IMO:thumb:

Hi E55BOF, yes it's definitely a C Class C63 that I prefer. I don't think the CLS would even fit on my driveway.

Some have suggested that the types of owners of estate version tend to be the more sensible end of the spectrum I. E unmodified, looked after etc. A private sale could be a good option if you take the right precautions.

I've not heard much about catastrophic issues with facelifts but I can understand piece of mind with warranty. Not sure about main dealer history being a selling point but reverse camera a key one for me

This one was owned by the father of a member of the C63 FB group. He had it for 6 years apparently and it is very well looked after. Not my taste re the interior but it appears good ones can command high prices these days. If the one you have located at a MB Main Dealer is good and with proven service history (they will have a print out for it) it might be worth the cost to get the 2 year AMG warranty on the car. Just check the tyres are all good and are from a decent manufacturer and it should look after you for quite a while.

Used values are getting so silly now I may even be tempted to swap out my 507 for something I've always wanted in a few months.

Cheers Yex,

I saw the one from Kingdom Specialist cars last night, it's an absolute beauty and has all the options I'd like, but it's really pushing the budget. The one from MB is really nice and marginally cheaper, but I think the 2 year AMG warranty will help me sleep better. I will definitely be giving the car a good check over.

Thank you.
