Hi all, my 2nd foray into Merc ownership started around 3 weeks ago when I bought a 2019 E63 S estate ... previous Merc was back in 2013 ... a fairly mundane C250cdi sport estate. Prior to the E63 I had an E92 M3 and a VW T6 transporter, so the E63 is taking over daily duties. I've always wanted a car with the M177 in it and the E63 S in estate form was the only option for added practicality. I'd pondered over a C63 s previously but need a bit more space so the E class suits me better.

First impressions well, its just what I wanted/expected ... I just love this thing! Its an absolute brute of a car ... insanely fast, too fast for UK roads lets be honest. The noise ... I mean, it sounds good at all revs .... apart from a couple of spirited drives, I havn't really had to time to explore it fully .... maybe its simply not possible in the UK.

The car is standard apart from the Panamerica grill which I fitted yesterday ... and will stay that way. Spec is Obisdian Black, black leather, optional multispoke wheels, standards seats, night pack ... probably more than I haven't realised yet.

Anyway here it is ... had it ceramic coated and some small areas PPF'd last week, hence the gleam:)

Lovely, congratulations. You might well have just bought yourself a great big slice of peak AMG 👍🏻

Congrats! Thats a real beauty and that paintwork looks phenomenal. Let us know your thoughts once you've driven it a bit more

Nice congrats!!!

Congratulations. W/S 213 is a cracking car, all you need and more in a daily.
For me they are such an amazing car at an absolute bargain price in today’s market.
Well done to you.

When I bought mine back in December 2023, I would have agreed with you on the 'too fast for UK roads' but - in the last 12 months I've subconsciously recalibrated by perception of what 'fast' is. In my previous C63S I would be storming along at 85/90 on fast A's and Motorways regularly (conditions permitting obviously) and yes that felt quick enough, but in the E class, I can quite easily find myself doing those same journeys in mid triple figures without even realising (130mph - allegedly, on the A42 is fairly 'lively' for instance!). The has so much power in all gears and at any revs, it invites you to push.

These cars are absolutely sublime, just a shame the sound is so muted unless you're at WOT. But, that's nitpicking!

Nice car, lovely colour too (but then I'm biased of course).

Out of interest, what tyres do you have on there at the moment? I'm stuck with P-Zeroes at the moment and as many will attest, they're shockingly bad, particularly if you're venturing out in winter temperatures.

Is the car "fun" at lower speeds too, do you feel it can play coming out of junctions etc at low speeds, or gives a lot of drama with lots of wheel spin etc from a stop ? Or do you have to really push it to enjoy ?

I'm seriously thinking about s213 (which i almost got 7 years ago but got an s205) or V12AMG albeit much less playful

Fastest colour apparently🤷‍♂️😄

PS4S's ... newly fitted before I collected. Seem very grippy ... been out in the cold and wet, no issues. Had them on my M3 ... superb grip in all weathers with a RWD car.

Not a lot of wheelspin with 4WD ... point it, foot down and the horizon just appears. Oh and the noise ... 😍

Yeah I had PS4S's on my C63S (first thing I swapped after getting it) - cannot wait to put them on this car, but can't justify the cost at the moment.

Oh it's lots of fun at lower speeds, because it has low down grunt from almost no revs, it becomes very point-and-squirt when required. I've not really explored getting it sideways (on purpose) too much given the Pirelli's lack of grip in anything other than hot weather. I did get totally out of shape last week on an island because it was cold and damp, but even then it was completely controllable.

All things being equal, I really wouldn't hesitate to get one - hands down the best all round car I've ever owned.

Out of interest, what M3 did you have? I had an E46 years ago and would have another in a flash.....

E92 DCT ... and my first V8. Previously owned E36 M3, E36 M3 GT and E46 CSL. I'm definately a BMW fan at heart but not of current stuff ... they don't do anything for me. I had considered an F90 M5 comp but really needed an estate .... and the M177 :)

Doesn’t your car have drift mode?

E46 m3 csl , thats the pinnacle of M3 ownership. What was your reason to let that besst go, lack of radio? I got myself an e93 m3 DCT in February to blow dry my hair around in. Had an e46m3 till 2019 and e46 330 before that and 645ci. The e9x is a very nice car, the gearbox is very decent for an old car and the v8 sings nicely
