Thought I'd introduce myself as I will no doubt be posting here often, having just bought myself a tidy-looking CLK 350 coupe with the ticking timebomb M272 engine. Oh well, it's only money!

Gearbox atf and filter service every 40k miles is recommended .

Have same motor, 3ltr M272. Enjoy and be aware of potential problems. Forums are full of bad news and doomsters.

Thanks. I checked before I bought it and it's within the range. It doesn't bother me too much though.

A man of good taste. The way I see it, a teenage Merc is going to need money spent on it. If it works out cheaper than leasing the cheapest A-class over the next three years or so then I'll be pretty happy.
