CLK 270 CDI
Hi, had the CLK a week now and love it. Its a late 2004 (2005 facelift) in Jasper Blue with black leather (mint).

Only problem is the cold running never going above 60 and corresponding low heat from the heater, so I've ordered a new thermostat after reading other threads on here (thanks!).

After cleaning it yesterday (I did about 300 miles last week) the CLK was gleaming and after work today I popped into my local ASDA (a small town) and parked it in the farthest and very emptiest corner of the ASDA car park and guess what, yep, 2 pillocks had parked either side in what was still a very empty carpark about 2.30pm on a cold Tuesday afternoon (I work shifts)! Unbelievable!! I should mention one of the idiots had parked really really close so I had to squeeze into my car in what was still an empty car park! Does anyone have similar experiences??

By the way on a 167 mile trip back from Cumbria (where I bought the car) I achieved 52 mpg at an average 51 mph, especially as it was below freezing going over the North Pennines with snow on the ground for 25 miles and 30 odd miles of 50 mph max on the M1! Superb car!!

Hi & welcome to the forum & not to far away from me either.

Yes always get some cretin in an absolute shed of a car come and park next to me in a virtually empty car park drives me mad

Thermostat is really a very common issue... Id recommend a genuine MB one... The after market ones dont come with the temp sensor and the old ones are usually seized in.

Jaymanek - Wish I'd realized genuine MB thermostats come with the sensor as the one I received today from Carparts4less came without the sensor. Can the sensor from the old thermostat be used on the new one (i'm guessing it can)? I suppose I'll find out over the weekend when I fit it.

Benz270cdi - Yes it was the worst car in the car park that parked within inches of the Clk in the desolate corner of ASDA, the flamin' pillock!!

Yes it can be used but it can be seized in... just have to be careful and patient when removing it... WD40!

Welcome to the forum from another fellow CLK270 owner :D
