C43 AMG
Hi Folks,

I pick up my 1999 C43 AMG later this week.

This will be both my 1st Mercedes & my 1st V8, really looking forward to getting it. :D

Cheers

Hello and welcome to the forum Mark.

Iirc the C43 AMG was the first AMG built after Mercedes acquired them.

Hope you enjoy it....

Hello Mark
Welcome to the Forum :thumb:

Hi and Welcome, Enjoy!

Welcome Mark :) sounds like a hell of a motor - lots of pics when it arrives please!

Cheers guys,

Got the car on Friday, still to go back to dealer to get rear window fixed (duff window runner).

Still trying to get used to the bottom hinged accelerator pedal it's a bit of a learning curve after 20 years of driving with std pedals. :)

Has anyone on here done the resonator & secondary cat delete? I'm toying with it as the car is a bit too discrete sounding for a meaty V8 nut also I dont want it to be too loud either. Basically I want my cake and eat it :)

Will post pics up asap

I need to get this done as my secondary cat is starting to rattle.

I'm going to pop over to C&C in Hillington next week to see what they would charge for it. They did my 3" downpipe when I had my Saab 9-5 Aero, it was like a work of art & much cheaper than an off the shelf part.

Took some pics tonight with my phone.

Welcome to the AMG Club and enjoy

Yes If you get in touch with Olly a fellow member at PCS ( Prestige Car Service ) 02392 570123, he is the expert or look him up on the Forum, you can't PM yet until you have 30 Post's i think.

Lets have some details of your car. Age,Colour etc etc.

Great Colour, they are usually Silver or Black, looks very clean and not a bad Reg either.

Just needs an Avantgarde Grill and a pair of W210 Blinking Door mirrors.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the info.

Spec is as follows:

1999 in Labrador Blue.

Stacks of history with receipts going back to 1999 and every MOT certificate.

Totally Standard at the moment, but as you know I want to lower it a bit and stiffen up the handling & fit 18" monoblocks, although I'm also being tempted by later AMG styles too. :dk:

I'm going to see my local exhaust specialist to see about the resonator & secondary cat delete also as it's too quiet for my liking, I'm assuming that the remioval of these parts will also help with engine response, albeit probably only a little.

Hopefully this and a remap could liberate around 15-20bhp extra?

It has the Mercedes Disc Based SatNav, which I thought about keeping as it has 2005/2006 disc so relatively up to date. To be honest though compared to using Google Nav on my phone it's pretty crap, so I think I'll be buying a newer head unit with bluetooth audio to link up to my phone.

Cheers

Mark
