New member intro & query.

Hi all, new member intro & query. I have just aquired a 2012 W212, 220 cdi saloon, one owner FMDSH & it preforms just as it should, despite the 147k miles showing .. "nicely run in" I have been informed! The bodywork is in exceptionally good with only the odd very minor blemish. Underneath all is well in the rear sub-frame department, somewhat more concerning however is the spare wheel well area, not apparent from inside the boot at all but externally it is a flakey rusty mess, still solid enough at the moment ... but ....
I was just wondering if this is a "Oh yes, they all do that Sir" scenario or a one off? Can anyone shed any light on this, I am assuming that the new revised 20 year sub-frame warranty would not cover this?

I'm no expert but rust can be basically brushed off if done correctly unless the rust is deep and not just sueface. Rust accumulates easily especially in this country when it goes through the it's damp seasons, something we can't get away from. Sure someone will be along soon with more expert view.

I have it pretty much sorted, as per my other (same) post .. I couldn't find the "new member" bit at first .. then I did so I posted again
