Hi, I am not yet officially a Mercedes owner but I am actively looking to purchase a c350cdi w204 and I am close to securing a purchase on an early 2011 plate.

While using this forum to learn a little about my next purchase it has come to light that there is or has been a massive issue with the blue efficiency injectors, so my questions are -

1- From what I can gather this issue has already been rectified and any Mercedes regularly serviced at a main dealer should not be concerned, is this correct.

2 - Is the fix permanent or still causing some members on-going issues.

3 - I am not clear whether this issue even affects the c320 and c350 V6 engines so if someone could clarify it would be appreciated.

4 - Any other issues or points to note regarding the V6 engine and C class w204 in general I should be aware of?

5 - What is the real around town MPG from other 320/350 owners?

6 - I haven't come across issues regarding the DPF but I know on some cars this has also caused major issues and cost for owners. Is the W204's DPF any cause for concern?

Any help very much appreciated :thumb:

1. You are looking at 2011 C350CDI, so this car should have the modified injectors, but it's worth checking with an MB dealer for peace of mind.

2. Most of the blue efficiency (BE) engines have had the modified injectors, but as already said check any car that your are interested in with an MB dealer to confirm that the work has been done.

3. Cars (220/250/350CDI's) fitted with the BE engines (2009/2010?) were affected. A 2011 car should not be affected.

4. Just do the usual checks when buying any used car.

5. Dunno, but my C220CDI (pre-BE) does 38-40 MPG around town.

6. I guess short journeys will kill a DPF? How many miles will you do in your C350CDI? Also, what type of driving will you do? Local/motorway etc.

Thank you for the reply, it is appreciated. I have pasted a quote and reply from another thread regarding injector issues.

Btw it is the Brabus D5 installed and the car is still under MB warranty.
The ML300cdi model -now discontinued- was based on the 3 litre engine but detuned a bit compared with the 350cdi.
The injector recalls only relate to the 4 pot diesels -not the sixes.

Are you certain this affects the v6 engine as i am finding a lot of conflicting answers?

The DPF shouldn't be an issue as the wife will be driving around town locally but i will be opening it up on occasional mortorway driving.
