After 12 years of having a commercial vehicle we are now heading into early retirement and needed an estate to carry the occasional parcels (and the dog) but also wanted to treat ourselves. Found a great deal online through a broker with £10k off and after reading and viewing some pretty positive reviews decided to go for it.
Only extra we’ve gone for is privacy glass. The SE has pretty much all we need and I didn’t want to tip the RRP over the £40k level to avoid the higher road tax The dealer can deliver free but I’m going to pick it up myself and enjoy the 3 hour ride home to get used to the car.
We aim to keep this for some time. I have a couple of questions:-
We have a Merc specialist independent garage in our town with superb reviews who’s prices for servicing are way below a main dealer. Does having it serviced but not by a main dealer really affect future resale values that much? They only use original parts and most of their engineers are ex Mercedes.
Any views on whether some insurers are better for Mercs than just using a comparison site to find the cheapest?
Finally, for now, the SE doesn’t have the seat shaped pattern of electronic controls on the door panel. So where are the adjustments for the seats on the SE?
