2001 SLK 230 called Roxi
Hi all,

My name is Rae, I've joined MB doing research about buying a used SLK230.

It will be the first car I've owned am very excited.

I went to view a 2000 reg yesterday and checked the MOT (01/2014) under advisory it said the following:

near side front outer shoulder tyre worn close to legal limit,
offside front lower engine earth wiring loom cut and
exhaust support centre deteriorated.

I wondered if you experienced connoisseurs would help by letting me know whether any of the above should make me move on to the next car and also the likely cost of fixing the above.

Thanks in advance

Welcome. It obviously depends on price of the car, mileage and general condition and service history.
If all else is good, then laying out a few quid would make sense.

Hi,welcome to the forum:thumb:

Welcome Rae. Like already said it really depends on how much is being asked for it in the first place. Might be good ammunition for getting the price down maybe?

Hello Rae and Welcome from me too :thumb:

Thank you all for welcoming me. I am now the proud owner of an SLK 230 my first car and I love her. Now just trying to sort the insurance.

Hello and welcome.

Insurance isn't going to be cheap if it's the first car you've owned. See if you can find an insurance company who will give you a small introductory no claims discount.
The premium will also be cheaper if you can include a family member as a named second driver.

Thanks Mr Grumpy (",)
