W211
Hi. 3 months into first MB ownership.

2003 W211, 240 Classic, less than 44K miles and is a credit to it previous owner.

I did a lot of research on here and other MB sites before buying, so was familiar with most of the pitfalls with the first gen W211.

So far those pitfalls have started on point, having suffered an horrendous and persistent overnight battery drain in the first month of ownership. Thankfully now rectified by my local MB Specialist.

Love the car. I think the styling is excellent and it still stands up well today. Early impressions of the build and refinement also seem to be very good.

I even like the relatively tiny alloys, compared to today's standards.

Looking forward to meeting other like minded fans of the W211 on here.

Hello and welcome, I'm just across the water from you

I had a 211 estate for 7 years. Fabulous family bus. Took us all over the place effortlessly. Only sold it (to a forum member) so I could get a 212.

It did once have a battery drain issue linked to a phone module which wasn't shutting down properly but it cured itself. It did like to munch through batteries, though, if it wasn't used enough and throw up occasional error messages which meant absolutely nothing. Generally very well screwed together and still looked and sounded fresh on 145k.

I'm on my 3rd 211, they are great cars, They can be expensive to maintain trick is do the jobs when they come up, don't put them off.

Welcome. Great cars: I'd still be in one today, if I could have found one with low enough mileage.
Good for 250,000+ if you can be bothered to maintain them.

Had my 211 sedan for a couple of months now and love the shape/lines of her, on the whole amazing build quality, love the dials and lay out of the interior, and the leather parts do not look like they are 18yrs old, still work in progress but always look forward to driving her.
