New member still finding my feet and would appreciate some advice please on access to threads

Hello there,
so I have been beavering away reading posts and responding with emojis as well as making as many comments as I can, which had been picked up by one astute member, who pointed out and was 100% right about me trying to to reach the magic number of 30 where I was no longer a fledgling and could start to spread my wings a little further.

When I tried to do so, I found they were still clipped some what, as a lot of the threads would not let me participate as there was a box that would show out like this -

Ahah! There must be some other test I have to pass I'm thinking, so do I have to pay a membership fee I wonder and if so, how do I go about that please, as I have looked and looked again and cannot see for the life of me anyway to do so?

Maybe I have to collect a certain number of 'likes' perhaps, or some other way to prove myself a worthy member, anyway, I really cannot fathom it out, so I would be very grateful if someone could enlighten me please, as it is really quite frustrating to read, be entertained and then not be able to become involved as I feel sure you can imagine, a bit like having the car and not being able to drive it like.

Another thing I noticed is some of the forum headings are in bold type and others not, again I assume this is down to access for some members and not others, so who gets to have the keys to enter all and how does one go about getting them please?

Hi, me again! I think it's 30 days AS WELL AS 30 posts! And the highlighted sections mean that there's an unread post/thread in that section. I normally just use the "New Posts" button to read all that's gone on since my last visit. Hth

It's worth the wait.

I’m not sure you are actually missing anything apart from private messages but I’m not sure that will change your MBCLub experience when it is enabled after 30 days.

We only use private messages for sending nudes.

I’m not sure you are actually missing anything apart from private messages but I’m not sure that will change your MBCLub experience when it is enabled after 30 days.

We only use private messages for sending nudes.

I have tried to find out which sections I can't access and without pushing every button, I have narrowed it down to these two, the first one of which is the one that interests me the most:

Off topic forum should be available. Posts here do not count toward your total posts though.

No one can reply to the classifieds directly, only by personal messages. Also, just posting emojis etc to increase your post count could see Admin removing some of your posts.

Did you read the forum terms and conditions? A lot of your questions are explained there.

That’s expected, it’s to prevent people signing up, advertising for free, and then never contributing to this wonderful forum. I think it’s mentioned when joining. It doesn’t affect most members though as most don’t sign up to sell.

Thank you for the reply DSM but the 'Off topic' forum isn't available sadly, and it is the threads on there that I have found to be interesting and would like to participate in.

I am not really concerned about my post count now that I have reached the obligatory 30 to become 'active' so to speak, but I didn't see anywhere in the forum 'terms and conditions' where it said I would also have to wait the 30 days, which is why I asked the question about not being able to access some threads/areas.

Absolutely is a rush, as I am delighted to have found and joined this forum and keen to play an active part as I am sure you can imagine. I have come across some interesting threads in the 'Off topic' section and would have like to have shared my thoughts and participated but have found that I can't do so, now only to be told I will have to wait 30 days from joining.

Okay so all new members are in the same boat for sure and have to play the waiting game, but then again not all folks are built the same and I suspect some might be more eager than others and I just happen to be one of those excitable keen ones, so now I hope you can understand just what 'the rush' is?

A bit like the Cadbury's Caramel YT video, I feel like the bird who gets its beak trapped in the tree, still gets the choccy in the end though right?

100% agree and understand, always get folks trying to make a quick sell and/or get free advertising.
