New member still finding my feet and would appreciate some advice please on access to threads

I understand it had been explained, and sorry for the repetition, no offence meant, I was merely answering your question(s).

I am beginning to understand that perhaps you don't get many enthusiastic new members joining in the same way as myself, the deflation is just down to gaining and losing post counts, thinking I had access and then not, a bit like being given something nice only to have it taken away again, that's all, nothing sinister I assure you.

I do absolutely understand that rules are there for good reason and am 100% behind abiding by them, but you misunderstand my reasoning behind the mentioning of the terms and conditions and highlighting of the points I noticed, you asked me if I had read the said terms and conditions in two posts and showed me an image I presume so I new what you were referring to. I was again just answering that question and adding what I had noticed about them, as finding it a little odd for such a prestigious forum that's all, I suspect they have been like that for a while, and it might have been appreciated to have been pointed out so that something could have been done if deemed necessary, however it seems I have put my big foot in it as it has been taken badly where no offence or harm was meant I can assure you of that. If you knew me a little better, you would know I am not the sort of person to blow my own trumpet, point a finger, be disruptive or hurtful to anyone, just a bit too excitable for most tastes I guess.

With regards to the car meet in Devon, I tried to put it in the events section, I don't get out very much at all, it was the first time I had taken myself off and I thoroughly enjoyed it. There are very few car events down my way and I wanted to share it with car nuts like my self ... simple as that really ... nothing more nothing less.
But you do not understand from your answer above.

I and others have said many times that it is a requirement to have 30 VALID posts AND be a member for 30 days. The latter you are nowhere near as yet. Give it time.

I am really do not think anyone has taken anything badly, you just need to accept the forum rules for new members.

I wasn't aware of any restrictions on Off Topic posts so that may be an aberration, try contacting Admin and asking?

No need to explain.

I hope you’re not too deflated again when you do become eligible to post in the Off Topic area, because unless you really really enjoy telling people what you’re having for dinner, wishing members “Happy Birthday”, and chatting about caravans, then there’s a real risk you might be.

Don’t mistake this post for deprecating this forum - far from it, this is the best motoring forum bar none, and I’m proud to be part of it - it is simply a reflection of the fact that you can already post in 99.9999%+ of the threads on this wonderful forum. The extra few threads in OT won’t change the overall experience.

Enjoy MBClub 👍🏻

Be grateful that you cannot see the OT forum.

As for prestigious. They let me in
😉😉

At least the OP had a lucky escape and missed my solo, jumpsuit-clad performance of Stairway to Heaven on the accordion...

Plus you were very fortunate that I was able to offer yuu advice when you became "trapped" in your squeeze box! 😁

"You will not be able to use the Private message facility or reply/post to classified threads unless you have a 30 post count."
What exactly is a "Classified thread"? Top Secret?

No not Top Secret Harry, it just means those threads found in the section under the heading 'Classifieds' i.e. the buying, selling and/or wanted goods, cars, items etc.

Here is a picture taken of the section I am talking about and as new members we are not given access to this, until we have made 30 relevant posts and been on the forum for 30 days:

Rather boringly, it’s the noun rather than the adjective.

I think I might even have that the right way round!

Were I be in Wiltshire some think that syntax is the VAT on condoms 🙄😉

I forgot to welcome you to the forum Harry, very remiss of me but great to have you join us especially as one of our overseas members, I have to say I have not long joined myself and still finding my way around; all takes time as the saying goes. ;)

Thank you for the clarification.

Off topic forum should be available. Posts here do not count toward your total posts though.

No one can reply to the classifieds directly, only by personal messages. Also, just posting emojis etc to increase your post count could see Admin removing some of your posts.

Did you read the forum terms and conditions? A lot of your questions are explained there.👍
Hi DSM10000, where do I find the T&C please? Thanks for your help.

They are a bit disjointed.

Click on the 3 bars on the top left click on "Home" and go to the bottom of the page,

What exactly are you looking for? 👍

So I came to the forum because I want to buy a C63, but I want/need some advice first. Given I don't own a MB yet, so I don't have a bunch of nice pics to share yet & being new I posted my ask in the new member intros section, then realised my mistake & couldn't find a way of taking it down. Am therefore looking for where I can ask for advice so I post in the right place to get folks to reply. And thought I'd better read the T&C first so I don't mess it up again!

I have had a look through the sections available for posting (to us new folks) and I'm thinking the best place to post is most likely going to be the 'General Discussion' one, I have put the link below to take you there and just copy&paste your original new members post into a new thread in that section:

I hope you get some responses to help you with finding that special and first MB of yours 👍;)

Thanks, yes I've seen a few other people putting in requests for buying advice in there, though it seems to help if you have your eyes on a car that you can share a link with the guys. Will give it a go 👍
