Yep, I watch all Jonathan's tests. He's the best tyre reviewer out there and I find I concur with his thoughts in my experience.

I specified PS4Ss on my new C63S (due next month) and paid the difference over the tyres it was equipped with at the factory.

Do you mean that there is a factory upgrade to select a specific tyre, or the dealer will remove the factory fitted tyres and replace?

The only time I recall seeing a choice of tyre from the factory was on the AMG GT. You could opt for “Sports tyres” (Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2) if you also opted for the Dynamic Plus package (active engine and transmission mounts, firmer/tuned suspension and Race mode (engine/transmission map).

You are absolutely right, there is no choice of tyre from the factory. Like most manufacturers you take what you are given. However I put my dealer together with the independent tyre dealer across the road for a part exchange when the car arrives with delivery miles. Pilot Super Sports are good tyres but PS4Ss are superior enough to warrant the change in my view.

Sad update, my car was stolen on Thursday night. Thankfully no one hurt, just walked past where the car was parked and it was gone .

Gutted as I'd spent a lot of time on the car. Don't think I'll get another for the time being. Just waiting for the shafting from insurance before deciding what to do next.

I'm sorry to hear this. Just seen the pictures you uploaded. It looked lovely. If I ever needed the added push to get a Ghost fitted I think your situation has just given me my answer. Hopefully the fact with all the used car price increases of late that you get a decent valuation off the insurance company

Very sorry to hear. Hope the insurance isn't too harsh on you. My own experience of having a car stolen is hair of the dog, buy another one of the same, but just a bit better, better spec or with a LSD if yours didn't have one. It doesn't bring your old one back but does suggest life can be even better..though obviously that depends on the financial situation you are left in. Good luck.
