New Merc Owner - Service Plan?

For reference, a brake fluid change is £110 and ATF change is £610 from my local dealer for my GLS350d - both are due in 2 months and 8 months respectively.
The discounted (20% off) Service Plan for 2 Services is £864.
FYI - discount only applies to the upfront payment option and not monthly.

If you have either of these 2 items due, as well as Fuel Filter and Plugs to add, it's well worth it!

My local reputable specialist will charge £1,025 for an A, B, Brake Fluid and ATF.
Mother of God , Brake fluid £110 , ATF £610 .... those are enormous prices

I agree, I am due the A+ this month at 75K and I got a 2 service deal for £806 (including the 20 per cent upfront discount) which I considered to be pretty good. I was quoted £777 for the A+ (£454 for the ATF etc) and the next service will be the B. With the inclusion of the MB recovery (RAC) covering the whole of Europe for two years which would cost over £200 if taken out separately I recon the two services would only cost £600 so that is pretty good. Even without the 20 per cent discount it came out at £1008 which is still a good deal in my eyes.

Many on here suggested that MB keep the prices of PAYG servicing artificially inflated in order to make the Service Care Plan look more attractive in comparison.

Remember SaaS - Software as a Service? This a business model that trickled into other industries.

The Service Care Plan is in effect 'Servicing as a Service' - you pay a fixed amount and get all the servicing you need.

Much more lucrative overall than going through the rigmarole of marketing and selling each service individually.
