2016 C Class 220d Amg Line
Hi all,

I have just put down a deposit on a 65 plate c220d AMG line. I am very excited about the car, but am less happy with the aluminium/piano black dash. It will arrive on saturday and I'm doing some research :)

I have seen some discussions around replacing this (I don't have the money to spend on buying the black ash version and installing along with clock/wiring). Could somebody please tell me what is the most common method of improving this? Is it a vinyl covering? If so do I have to make this myself or are there pre-cut kits I can buy?

Also if anyone knows - the aluminium parts/dash are scuffed in some places - is it possible to buff this out or fix it?

Thanks a lot and I look forward to using this forum!

You can get it wrapped from anyone wrapping cars, not sure of the cost though.

Thanks a lot :) - any idea which type of wrap is recommended/popular?

edit: I have just seen on youtube a sort of all in one cover in carbon effect, not sure if it looks good or cheesy...

The wraps I've seen mentioned on the forum have all been the carbon fibre wraps. Pretty good results too in my opinion.

Might be worth asking the dealer if they will replace / swap it out?

I know someone who asked the dealer to swap the wheels on his 5 series he was buying so it isn't impossible

Thanks for the replies. That cover trim in the linked video looks like it works well so I think I will try that to avoid the trouble of having to wrap it by hand. If I get it I will post some pics. Thanks a lot :)
