I have to disagree with the "it must have FMBSH."
Mine is now 8+ years old (owned for more than half its life) and I use my local indy for servicing.
(This wasn't taken out of the MB servicing regime by me I might add)
I supply all genuine Mercedes items from Main Dealer so, have receipts and have the indy carry out the necessary works.
Although this isn't logged on the MB service record, I have all receipts and MB are aware of all parts purchased, as well as receipt from indy of works completed.
Plugs, although every 4 years have been replaced twice so far (I had them so, supplied them)
Transmission oil will be every 3 (trip to MSL is looming for an LSD so, may change)
Services are completed every 12 months regardless of miles covered
My paperwork to support the servicing and cherished miles could make a great bonfire
My opinion - if the car has stacks of paperwork to support its miles and it doesn't have a MB logo on the top, it wouldn't worry me.
I have a Nissan GTR also which has Litchfield paperwork. Regarded as No.1 in the GTR fraternity and away from Nissan servicing.
I don't feel this detracts from the saleability of the marque.
That said, a missing service (or paperwork) would concern me.
Good luck with the search
