New owner - Car phone info please

Hi guys,

New to the world of Mercedes and new to this group so appologies if this is posted in the wrong place. I have a C200 Coupe, 2004 model and attached to the radio is a car phone dial pad... I cant for the life of me work out how it works...? does it sync to your mobile, or is it run off the radio signal...? I looked at the manual but was lost, if anyone can help i'd be pleased...

You need the pre-installed wiring and adaptor in the centre armrest in order to use this. All have the phone buttons but not all have the necessary wiring and adaptor.

Does the top part of your centre armrest have a button on either side and does it flip sideways. If not you don't have the pre-install.

my armrest lifts up but from the front, there is no sign of any wiring inside though...

Afraid you don't have the phone facility installed then.
Expensive to retro fit and you'd still need to buy a bluetooth cradle (£100 - £290+) to fit into the adaptor, so if you really want to use your phone it's going to have to be something like a parrot phone installation. Should be info on here if you use the search option.

P.S. My armrest also hinges up like yours, but I have a separate part on the top.

Ok thanks for that mate, my armrest has a small unit at the top like your one and a deeper (not quite deep enough for cd's - Grrrr) section underneath. I'm not paying to use the phone though, just thought I was doing something wrong. Cheers for the advise though...
