hi all im in New Zealand and first ever MB. In reasonably good condition with some work to do and remedy a few noises.
something rattling on the right wheel (drivers side) suspension (will replace shocks too) and i think the tensioner and idler pulley need replacing.
Will do the work myself as that way minded.
Joined forums for my jag and alfa and everyone (well a few) were very helpful.
Maybe i can be of help to someone sometime too.
Cheers Karl

Welcome. We're pretty helpful here and a lot of knowledge.
I loved my 203. I seen it's suffering usual headlight degradation. My recommendation is remove the bumper then the headlights, wet sand (black paper) the headlight with something like 1000 grit to remove all discolouration, then spray the resulting clouded scuffed headlights with a 2k clearcoat. The clearcoat fills the scratches and self levels, leaving a totally clear and UV protected finish. In the UK, we can buy a rattle can aerosol for about £20, which is more than enough to do two or three coats on the lights.

Welcome.

I had a W203 C180K for 9 years.... great car!

Thanks , yes they were worse than they are now, i have used a headlight restoring cream (which is crap) and has come up way better but not how i want it. i will get round to it sometime and after doing the shocks and tensioner/pulley.

thats good to know.
i have been getting to know it and even managed to get a ticket from the coppers for doing over the speed limit yesterday!
First one ever, shouldve had my radar detector in it to at least alert me to the radar.

Don't Waze and Goole Maps etc alerts you of fixed speed cameras in NZ? Or was it a mobile camera?

Welcome, head lights chrome polish works quite well and is cheap.
Idler pulley, change it. They can let go without warning. Had this problem.
It will shred the belt and then no power steering, brakes and no water pump.

they do , but this was a policeman in a vehicle with his radar on coming the other way.
