New owner... with a question!

oh and I switched off the DRL's, they looked bit naff I thought. you can switch them back on via the MENU displayed in the speedometer.

also I de-badged the boot, think I have the letters somewhere if you want them. I hope you got some new tyres front and rear, they were down to the wear bars when I traded it in ! Afraid that goes with the territory with AMG's.

Great! - I'm glad it's a good one - I do like to try and patch together a good history of owners... you must be Oliver?

If you've got the boot letters that would be great, I quite like the look of it without them but the wife is undecided! The DRLs have gone back on already!

Yeah, new tyres all round, a service and a full refurb of the alloys in that nice grey colour. Plus 2 years warranty. I got to view your car on Saturday 18th while it was still dirty from being traded in - I must have only just missed you!

yeap, that's me - the first owner was MB themselves, was run by a young woman in the PR department apparently. I bought it from MB Epsom sept '14 with 12k miles on it (I think). most of the miles I did were running between Sussex and my house in Cornwall, so bulk of those done on the motorway. it was never thrashed, always let it warm up before extending it, I don't think I ever tried the 'launch control', it's never been on the track (have other more suitable cars for that purpose), but i did used to switch out the esp/tc quite often as i like to steer from the rear when the road is sufficiently empty.

i'll see if I can dig out the boot letters and let you know. I dropped the car off to the dealer on the 8th june, so guess it was just waiting prep for a bit.

By the way, if you thinking of installing an LSD don't bother - it already has one, despite not being on the spec sheet...added bonus for you there !

enjoy it, wonderful car.

LSD, bonus :)

Just booked mine in for one to be fitted one next week. Wish mine came with one installed by the previous owner. Jammy :ban:

Excellent - this is all very good stuff... especially the LSD!!! I don't have the original spec sheet from the dealer so I couldn't tell what is had. It's my first AMG car so everything is new to me!!

When I viewed it they hadn't done anything at all yet. They weren't that happy about letting me see it in that state but I'd rather have seen it 'honest' than polished! The Boston guys were good, but it has to go back to them for a better repair on the passenger side rear door - they just used a touch up stick on the scratch but it needed something better.

I am afraid that's what happens when you park in a railway station car park on a regular basis, some mindless numpty opens their door by touch and sound, rather than eyesight. shouldn't have been too many other blemishes, it was dirty when I dropped it off as had been in the short term car park at Heathrow T5 for a couple of weeks beforehand.

Other than that it was quite clean, it's now had a couple of days proper detail so it's looking nice again!

I'm too new to be able to send PM's on here so if you do find the badges or anything else you think I'd like (you've already given me an LSD today!) then my email is dan (dot) benham (at) hotmail.co.uk

Beautiful colour cavansite blue, was a strong choice for me when looking but i couldnt find a suitable vehicle from a main dealer. Hard to obtain colour, out of interest what interior combination has the vehicle got?

Congrats lovely c63.

Congrats! Nice colour!
These Estates are growing on me.... might swap my saloon for one.....

Yes I really like the colour, it stood out against the normal blacks and greys available. It looks like a squid ink when it's getting dark in the evenings, very glossy.

Interior wise... it's black! Sorry, I'm new to AMGs so I'm sure there is something more technical than that!

sorry Dan,

turns out that the dealer in Epsom removed the boot badges upon my request prior delivery and kept them. the badges I found in my desk draw are for an E63 that I had back in 2012.

at least you got a free diff !

happy (sideways) motoring,

Oliver

No worries - the free diff was the more important thing!!! Thanks again

I've got exactly the same colour combo in saloon version (caravan site blue with black leather). It is a good colour and quite rare, although mine has a few stone chips on it in unexpected places so I can't say whether it's as resilient as some other colours?

I'm relatively new to MB too, and one thing that does surprise me a little about the AMGs is that the plastic seat backings aren't colour coded to the leather. This is fine with black leather, but if I ordered cream or red seats I'd want them to be exactly that (without a big lump of black plastic stuck on the back !). Sometimes it can look ok, but other times it just looks a bit odd. You don't tend to see this with other high end marques.
