All, got the "[SIZE=-1]Brake Wear Visit Workshop" message today, and loking for some advice.

Car is a 03 c200K copue'

First of all, do i need to have this looked at stright away of can it wait a 3 weeks untill i get paid!

Secondly, is it an easy enough job to do myself and does anyone have a step by step guide on how to change the pads... with pictiures if possible.

Lastly, if i was doing this myself where would i get the parts, how do i find out what the part numbers are etc. etc.

Thanks in advance.

Probably means your front brake pads need renewed since they wear out faster than the rears . Could possibly be the rears if they have wear detectors. Its an easy job if you have the necessary experience but with brakes you dont want to take chances. Unless you can get the assistance of an experienced mechanic friend I would entrust the work to a MERC SPECIALIST -cheaper labour rates. I would use genuine MB pads and wear sensors. The alternative is OEM parts TEXTAR or ATE from Eurocarparts or GSF both have branches in Glasgow.

Cheers grober, taking your advice and getting a pro to do it. TJ O'Neil in Glasgow as recomended by this forum, £100'ish for the front pads, could be worse i guess.

thanks
