Bearing in mind im running an older (cheaper) MB than most of you,can you point me in the right direction where to get small spare parts from,(Apart from scrap yards), for instance, a new mast for the electric aerial ? John:dk:

I though the aerial on the W202 was built-in to the rear screen, with an amp in the C-piller......Are you sure yours is not a W201 (which has the arial on the rear wing) ?

but try German and Swedish, Euromerc and Main Dealers (honest), There are lots of other places as well - these are the first that come to mind though.

Hi,
Early 202's (pre-facelift) had a Hirschmann or Bosch electric aeriel mounted on the N/S rear quarter, you can buy them from Euro-car parts or E-bay, but the one I bought on e-bay rusted on the thinnest section of the mast.

Hi to WLEG,chassis number starts WDB202,but aerial is on rear wing ! John

Hi to Andy, thanx for that, I'll look up Euro parts on the net then. John

You can buy the mast instead of the whole kit for around £8 from mercedes (price may now have gone up though)

Thanx Koolvin, I never dreamt it would be cheap at MB, iv checked my aerial, its the Hirschmann one, is that the same as you had ?

AAARGH, just rung Mercedes dealer, they want 35£ + vat !, could get a new complete elec aerial for that.

Get the one from Euromerc ( in my link above ) , it will be genuine MB , for half the price that MB want ...

Tried to find them on the net, my computer says unavailable, & if this is the same firm as Nick Mercedes on here, cant deal with them yet cos i aint got 100 posts yet ! ! Aaaaaargh !

Just Google Euromerc

It's the first thing that comes up , says ' My Homepage '

Click on that , then click on the light blue link

It is indeed the same firm as Mr Mercedes , or click my link above .

Thanx for that Howard, yes, that works. My 1st computer & my 1st merc, quite a learning curve ! John

The Hirschmann H11 mast was around £20 a few years back funny how they have made such a mark up over the years.
