Hi all,
This is me first post so be gentle.
I've recently become the proud owner of a SL63 and have a service B looming, I live in the Horsham/Dorking area and need a garage to start using and build a relationship with. Can anyone recommend a garage that understands AMG cars that I can trust.
One other thing, the previous owner had all MB services apart from the last service which was done by an indy in Wimbledon and this is showing on the MB electronic service history.
I want my service history to always show on the MB electronic print out so my question is do all indies have access to the MB computer to be able to log services.

PCS in Horndean.

Just an hour's drive down that lovely A272 from where you are.

They're excellent.

You could google them, but wait a bit and a few others will say the same thing.

.

Got to agree with Mike. Look no further than PCS.
They are able to update your service history and always use OE parts.

Yes Olly at PCS. They have just reopened. S-Class booked for it's "B" service That is my Seventh consecutive year for the S-Class and don't forget the C43 and the CL55 :thumb:

I'd have thought any decent indie would be on the MB computer network.

Hardly worth going home as you'd be on your way back to collect it shortly after.

Welcome to SL63 ownership, enjoy

Welcome to MBClub. Congratulations on your new car! Looking forward to seeing some photos 👍🏻

Thanks guys PCS sounds just write, but one hour away means 4 hours in total unless I wait.

They are geared up to handle that issue. Have a chat with them on the phone.

They'll either schedule you in to start working on it as soon as you arrive, or they'll lend you a C class (from memory I think for free) so that you can either do something locally, or head back home.

Surprisingly, I'm in Wimbledon. Who would have guessed? And it's not that much further for me than driving half an hour to MB Weybridge or Brentford, and the price difference is massive. Although TBH, it's the personal service and expertise that I value the most.

As above. I Iive in Weybridge five minutes from Brooklands.

Thanks for your replies I'll give PCS a bell, on searching I found an indy in Worthing John Haynes and looking on their web site they look a sizable outfit with a great deal of experience with their employees.
Anyone recommend them good or bad as they are only 30 mins away.
Also what is a good hourly rate to look for or is it fixed price for a A or B service.

I have heard of John Haynes and given how long they have been established, it's worth speaking to them both, though I have previously used a reputable indy in Richmond that specialises in classics mainly and was left unsatisfied and out of pocket for an undiagnosed issue. It was then resolved by Hardip at Star Tec in Tolworth. For that reason, I would highly recommend them to you for your modern AMG. It's a drive up the A24 to Chessington.

Hi all, just thought I'd give you an update.
Well the SL63 will be going into PCS, why because of all your recommendation and their value for money.
I contacted both Indy's John Haynes and PCS with a series of questions and the main factor was hourly rate.
JH was £90 +vat with a service B priced at £390 inc vat and PCS only £65 + vat with a B service at 300 inc vat, with that sort of saving I can travel the extra mileage. Happy days.
Also both can log onto the MB computer to see what work needs doing and document and service work carried out on something they call DSB digital service booklet.

On another matter I've only had the 63 since Christmas and would like it to be a bit loader (having owned a Ferrari and Maserati) so can anyone suggest the cheapest way to play with the exhaust and change the sound that could be done by PCS.

Ask Olly at PCS about removing the resonator and replacing with straight pipes.
If you have the 5.5 Biturbo, I can assure you its a worthwhile modification and releases a lot more growl on cold starts and acceleration in Sport+:thumb:

I have seen exhaust work done by Olly. First class :thumb:

OK final update, car is booked in with PCS for service B, Brake fluid, MOT and exhaust mod.
Olly quoted me £450 inc vat for the resonator removal and welding in a new pipe so happy days and unhappy neighbors.
