To me the S looks like a CLS that been dining well. Too puffy for me...well it may look better duing the launch!

Will no doubt look better without the disguised lights.

I thought 'mini Maybach' when I 1st saw it, then read the article and ... it does take several styling cues from the appalling Maybach. Oh dear ... Just as they still build the Hillman Hunter in Iran, do you suppose they'll go on turning out superceded M-B models in China, India &c. for anyone who prefers retro?

My local dealer saw it on last week in Frankfurt, funny I can not remember if he said he liked it or not, they were not allowed to get close to it (it may have been the clay model).

Looks like a typical Mercedes-Benz improvemnt. Bit of S, bit of CLS and a touch of Maybach back end??

I quite like it, taking into account the covered lights and bonnet.

I think new cars should break new ground and challenge what went on before, I don't like this "retro" thing that alot of manufactures ( Jaguar for instance ) are into.

The CLS looks cool as well but I agree about the Maybach though - a challenge too far I'm afraid!

I dont like the 'narrow' windows and high backs of most new cars these days....

All the doors seem to have more metal and less glass now. Is that a safety thing or do people think it looks nice?

5 Series Doors & that large door arch mould makes the rear wheel look tiny.

one of the rear end views make it look like a Mondeo

I prefer to see them for real in the flesh as you just can't get a real feel for angles and dimensions from photo's especially when they're disguising such key elements as light clusters.

I'm sure it's overall size and presence will make it look and feel like an S class should when it's real.

Is that a new Merc or a new BMW? Similar iDrive system, back end looks like a BMW design too!

I suppose until you see it its difficult to tell, but the new engines look interesting! New S500 producing 388BHP. Wonder what the new AMG will produce?
