Previous owner recently fitted new shocks and springs but specified 'heavy duty' Bilstein shocks and 'Taxi Ride' coil springs.

As a result ride height is too high for me - looks a bit odd. and the car seems to jump down rather violently when going one bumps and speed bumps etc.

Eurocarparts on here have quoted me for Sachs replacements. Should I go with Sachs, who did supply Mercedes OE for this car? Will I obtain the legendary ride if I do so?

Could I just change the springs?

Does a Classic Mercedes specialist need to fit these and carry out the camber, castor & toe adjustment?

Thanks
Piers

Sachs are fine but if you want the correct springs go to MB.

Springs are tailored to suit the options your car has and so you will get the correct ones. They arent that expensive..

Sachs are fine though if you arent too fussy.

Shouldnt need alignment doing for springs...

Shocks should be fine..

Thanks J...so the 'heavy duty' nature of the shocks is not an issue?

wouldnt have thought so really..

They can always be changed easily afterwards if the ride is poor.
