SLK 200K
Hello everybody. I'm a new owner of a Silver 2003 SLK 200K and a new member on the site. My cars got 48K on it and the last owner was an 81 year old lady so its has had a gentle life.....until now. I hadn't planed to buy a SLK as I was looking at S2000s, but this one came along at a price I couldn't refuse.

First thoughts on the car? Well, Mercedes manaual boxes aren't as bad as I was lead to believe. Not great mind you, but not terrible. The roof is great and gives extra security over my old MX5 and gives you a bit more faith when parking up. All in all a good car that I think I'll keep longer than my normal 6 month track record for cars.

I've just had it serviced at a specialist in Stockport and also had a cam sensor replaced, no other issues were found so no more looming bills. The only other things to sort now are the corroding alloys and front tyres that show signs of being run at too low a PSI and may be goosed. I'm thinking after market alloys as a refurb and tyres will cost a fair whack anyway.

So there you go, hello every one.

Welcome Holmesy. Bit different to what you were looking for originally, similar format but very different.

Sounds like you've got yourself a nice car. Welcome to the forum!

Welcome. Please dont do the after market alloys. They never look right in my opinion. There are plenty of appropriate MB alloys that fit the SLK.

Hello and welcome

I'm with GP801 on this point.
Aftermarket alloys on almost any MB is NOT a good selling point and will normally detract on its value.
Best stick with MB parts that would have been original fitments.
Aftermarket alloys most definitely smack of "Barryboys" and "I have been caned".

In fact ANY mod that is not sympathetic will affect its value downwards.
Buyers like to see originality and a good service record.

BTW...........................................WELCOME ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Get the o/e alloys refurbished - better - cheaper.

Welcome. The R170's lovely :thumb:- but then I am biased! I've had mine - 320 - for nearly 8 years! omg can't believe it's that long - and I love her.:D

As for wheels - deffo stick with MB wheels - others won't look right. I like Adharaz myself - have had two sets on mine, Started with 16" and moved to 17s some time ago.
