New Tassie Ml270 diesel dude👍

Hey guys, here's my intro, sorry if it's short, had covid for 2 days and feel junk as.

43 yrs old, live in Tassie, just bought my first DIESEL Mercedes, a mint 04 ML270 cdi auto.... 156,000kms, but could easy pass for only having 40ks...

Has a couple minor niggly issues, prob maf, or EGR or sensor related quirks, which I'm hoping you legends can help with always made friends and had super good experience on forums

Going to do the EGR delete ( mine has the vacuum line operation, so I have questions, swirl flap delete, decat, and that's probably about it, but I've said this about every other vehicle I've owned.... Totalling 79 so far.... I have issues

I suggest you invest in a good code reader unless you have a Mercedes specialist nearby.

iCarsoft are very good. There is a model that is MB specific and can read many of MB systems and subsystems that ordinary OBD devices cannot.

If you have other vehicles then they make another unit that covers multiple makes also in greater depth.

Thanks for the welcome buddy, I actually have the icarsoft MB 2.0, but for some reason it doesn't work in the ML ( worked perfectly on my c320 petrol), tested other cheapy scanners I have and they all work, but it's like the icarsoft is dead..... Yet it's been used once since brand new

Have tried to update via bottom UsB port, PC goes PING like it's recognised a device, but screen doesn't light up, and update tool doesn't auto recognise serial..... So maybe it's died after 1 use and sitting in a cupboard for 7 months ? Will try tomorrow in another vehicle to see if it lights up (not a Merc, but may show something)

Was it a genuine product from an approved supplier? If so it is worth contacting the company you bought it from.

There are some dodgy clones for sale.

Yes mate, from a real scanner place and I'm 99% sure it's genuine.... Worked flawlessly first and only time I used it... It's out of warranty period now, so guess my loss

Might be worth an email to iCarsoft with the serial number etc. You never know
