Evening all, I thought I post an intro as I don't see a new members area. I have just (today!) picked up a 33k/2014 c63 estate that is being drafted in for family duties until September when I get a new company box and this can be upgraded into something a bit more focused. I've come from a e92 m3 but have had just about every M example going but prefer the more analogue/NA stuff (my coupe was a manual). Have to say that in London traffic the auto wins and in sport+ the downshifts and pops on upshift are unlikely to get old anytime soon. So far a couple of little niggles to sort (wheel balance and exhaust v slight rattle) but overall she's a beauty. My neighbour didn't even think it was a performance car he just saw the black estate instead of the coupe and thought I'd caved in! Love the subtlety of these things especially on 18s. Anyway looking forward to an LSD and msl remap at some point once I've driven her enough to notice! Stay safe all! T edit: hate it when photos are a nightmare to post in forums...are we still in the 90s? Nevermind!Resizer_15917369252210.png

Nice one TJ! I’m based in Limehouse E14 and have a 530hp CLS55 (Eurocharged tuned - LSD, remap, de-cat, X-pipe, SLR software, pulleys, etc) on 18” Supersport tyres. Center Gravity did my geo in 2014 and it drives beautifully at 91k miles.

You’re right about having an auto in London, but God I miss my Manual Porsches. The CLS55 is a great ‘cheap runaround’ and is practical and will destroy most cars on the road including older GT3s.... BUT nothing drives like a Porsche :)

I’m using Wayne Gates in Watford for servicing once they’re open again, perhaps they could help with your geo and any other issues. I don’t know of anyone else good in the London area - perhaps others can chime in.

Welcome to the forum!

I've heard alot of good things about centre gravity over the years but never made it there. Might have to soon but I'd heard these were quite limited in adjustment so was just planning a specialist to look over it? My end game is probably kw or ohlins at some point as this car will be parked about an hour's drive from the nurburgring from 2021 and I intend to take a few trips there! Need to look into the gearbox cooling issue a bit more but hopefully this is overplayed. I really loved the e92 as a 'on it' driving machine but it fell short sometimes as a daily. Early days but so far am really impressed by the pick up and management of the power, I took a pacey route back and the esp impressed me in sport+ (fun is allowed!) but I can imagine these things are transformed with an LSD.

Nice E30. I drove one right through university and for a couple of more years until I moved to the US in 2000. Now I own a ropey E28 M5 and a not so ropey E23 M635 as part of my personal junk yard collection.

The title of your thread is exactly why I also have a C63 estate. A simple remap and a differential make a big difference. Either Quaife or Wavetrac for circa £1,500. They're both good but I'd recommend the Wavetrac. A 265 tyre helps a lot too instead of the 255. The cooling issue is real unfortunately though. Enjoy, I'm sure you will.

Wheres that?

I’m a tad confused

“being drafted in for family duties until September when I get a new company box and this can be upgraded into something a bit more focused”

but

“looking forward to an LSD and msl remap at some point”

how long are you planning on keeping the estate?

She's staying standard until my wife can take the company car (some sort of 7 seater) as she'll be driving it regularly then I can make it mine! I get a car of my choice with work but don't actually need to drive it for/to work (mad I know) so I can use the beast!

On the subject of wheels, does anyone have any ideas on alternative 18s for this car, was there only the stick AMG wheels or the 19" options? I'm toying with buying another set and everyone I speak to tells me that 19s kill the ride...

There's also this style of 18" wheel which I use for winter tyres.

The ride isn't that much worse on 19" wheels though.

Cheers, I think I might try 19s as it does add something to the presence. I'd love BBs CH-Rs but they're a bit punchy given they're no lighter than a standard wheel.
