New (to me) SLS!

What can I say, it's outstanding! I love the colour combo and it's in great condition (thanks MSL )

The performance, even coming out of a near-600hp M6 is frightening it's great to be back in a N/A car again and all the throttle response and linear power delivery that brings. The sound is as outrageous as you can imagine but my favourite part of the SLS is how they feel on the road - it's the only car I've driven (911 included) where you can really feel the low centre of gravity which, combined with such direct steering and flat handling, it exhibits such a planted feel on the road.

Not so good (again) is the outrageously expensive B&O audio system which is as horrid as the first one I had. Once again, I'm having the rear subs replaced next week which is a guaranteed fix for this. And yes, the gearbox once again deserves its poor reputation as it feels as slow as I expected, especially competed to the M6's DCT. It'll be needing the TCU upgrade pronto!

But none of that deters at all from the car, and I'm delighted to be back in what is an exceptional SLS

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the kind comments. I thought the colour combo would be more controversial!

I'll pop some thoughts up on how it drives in the next few days but one thing that stood out for me driving it home yesterday (and I'd forgotten since last time) was how effective an SLS is at clearing the outside lane! Nearly every single car moved over, and on a 40 minute journey back from Birmingham, it was photographed at least 3 times. Presence is an understatement!

Thing is, I wasn't nearly as able to enjoy it last time I had an SLS as I wasn't too good in 'myself' - my dad had recently passed away, my mum about to. Things are very different now, my intention is to keep this (as long as I continue to be able to afford it!) as it's surely going to be a modern classic very quickly (think BMW Z8?).

Anyway, I must work harder so I can continue to enjoy other new metal with the SLS nicely tucked away, but for now, this is my daily drive. Funnily enough (although this was more planned as it was ordered some time ago), Vicki gets one of the new M3's on launch day this Saturday

I think the best view of an SLS is looking from the front, back over the bonnet - the width/stance is very impressive .
