New to mercedes, how do you know what w

Hi all
Been reading some post and there's different w's how do you know what one you have.
I have a 2005 c220 Dci se estate auto

You have a W203, well technically an S203 as its an estate.

There is a good page on Wikipedia regarding all the W numbers.

First 3 numbers from your VIN as shown bottom left of windscreen

Most questions like this are easily googled and wiki is the top result
