New to Mercs

As stated in a previous thread, i have always had BM's, can someone tell me how i can find out what Model Nbrs belong to what car i.e E39 is Mark 3 5 Series, a W164 is a ML. Is there a web address that explains this?

If you look at www.mercupgrades.com - theres thumbnails of most of the later models along with the designation.
