Am taking the car to Germany in a few weeks time - the rears have 3mm left so was wondering does anyone know if tyres are cheaper in Germany than here?

They are cheaper in Germany.
Prices are similar to Austria, I bought 2 new Michelins while in Austria in the summer, for about half the retail price I would have had to pay in the UK.

I think you need to shop around I bought a P Zero in Austria a couple of weeks ago for 150 Euros (just over £100) which is comparable with the UK.

But when you have a flat tyre they can charge what they like cos you have to have a new one!

All tyres from Mytyres are shipped from Germany, though that does not mean much as its probably the volume that they buy. I have heard it said that they are cheaper, dont forget the nearly new tyres that are sold there when the owners switch to winter tyres
